Mickey (yes the one who praises all things Cowboy), said on yesterday’s Talkin Cowboys that Trysten barely got to the team plane in time.

That along with the thread about Marinelli saying he’s regressing, he’s got a lot of work to do to make the team next year.

barely making it on time means he made it on time, what is the big deal re that aspect?

Just out of curiosity, are there any other stories about other teams having issues like this with their high draft picks? It seems like a theme here. Is it the Cowboy culture, or is it common in the NFL? I'm not hearing similar stories from other teams. Taco, now Hill. . .

Meaning what? That it's never happened before?
Like it never happened with Taco?
Like it never happened with Gavin Escobar?
Like it's never happened with every bust/failure/miss this team has ever had.

"LOL" indeed.

Are you going to pretend that the numerous starters we drafted weren’t labeled as busts early on?

oh Jaylon that was a good one. Byron Jones another favorite of mine. D-Law, Connor Williams, Maliek Collins..........

I guess people want to flex their football IQ by calling it early? Just weird man

But Marinelli had him sign a contract promising he would always give 110%!!!!

How stupid is that

Not any more stupid than Jerry paying $800,000 for this season.

hindsight is 20/20, it’s not like DT wasn’t an equal position of need. Obviously we thought his attitude wasn’t going to be a problem and right now he’s not living up to his word. We’ve had less draft misses the past 10 years than pretty much every other team though so what’s your point?
Lots of posters here do nothing but look for opportunities to hate.

I liked Thornhill, but convinced myself to like this pick after the draft.

I'm pretty sour on the guy.

Just posted another thread covering Hill.
I personally think sometimes the term “best player available” is a bunch of BS. A lot of teams really draft based on “need” and hope they hit. At the same time, some teams draft BPA at a position that’s already loaded and leave holes going into the season. Either way, the term “BPA” is BS. We drafted “BPA that fits our system” with Taco and “BPA/big guy” with Hill according to Rod and Kris Richard. Drafting purely BPA would mean TJ Watt and SS Taylor Rapp or FS Juan Thornhill are Cowboys right now. Instead, we’re stuck with what looks like another D-Line bust in Hill.

Sounds more like people want to make stuff up that never happened so they can feel less bad about what looks to this point like another screwup.

I think he just showed them his tape. This kid has exceptional natural talent. He just has issues in his character that are probably going to prevent him from ever reaching his potential, here in Dallas. I mean, this is crazy.

No, he absolutely doesn't. He's a great athlete. That's it. That's not the same as talent. Guys with great talent actually make plays. He didnt do squat in college. He hasn't done squat here. The book was he was lazy in college. He's been lazy and unmotivated here. It's a wasted pick until he proves otherwise at this point.

This is semantics.

Other teams don't have Garrett......the players aren't scared or intimidated even the rookies know everything goes through daddy not Garrett.
