Your reply makes no sense. A good db coach is not necessarily a good coordinator, just like a good coordinator is not always a good head coach.

Agreed but not sure I trust him at this point. I've said it elsewhere but he's either incapable of making a difference or handcuffed by Rod' scheme. He's responsible for the DB's and they refuse to make a play on the ball. The one player capable of making plays, Jourdan Lewis, was in the doghouse and only got to play after injuries.His DBs here don't play like the ones in Seattle did. I'm not talking about skill level, I'm talking style.

That's why I suggested bringing in Schiano. His units at Rutgers, Tampa Bay, and Ohio State were known for their defensive toughness and was supposed to be the Patriots DC this season (but he changed his mind). He is not without flaws but there's not exactly a bunch of quality defensive minds unemployed at this time of the year.

Purge the entire defensive staff.

Schiano might have a head gig at Rutgers soon.

I know of no one suggesting Marinelli should replace Richard as play caller. I see most want both gone.

If he’s calling the plays he’s basically the DC. I mean it’s hilarious you admit he calls in the plays but then kind of want to give him zero responsibility for the defense’s failures.

It’s also not an excuse for Marinelli who also has failed at his job.

Cowboys have not had the right personnel on defense in forever. Goes all the way back to the day when they ran the 3-4 with a 290lb nose tackle Ratliff yeah he would get sacks but pushed out of plays too easy. This team does not collapse the middle and the o line gets to our line backers. Best game they played was last year vs the saints when they actually did collapse the middle and brees could do nothing.

... and he has been all year. Funny thing, all the clamoring to fire Garrett and Marinelli while the offense is doing alright and the defense was better with Marinelli at the helm.
