Garrett does not out-scheme anyone. His only scheme is to out-execute the opposing team. Hasn't changed in 10 years.
And don't expect any adjustments during the game. And if a play works, that is the last time you will see it during the game (or year maybe for that matter).

Perhaps it’s time to stop thinking that this is an elite team. Elite teams don’t have opponents claiming that they are predictable.

Garrett hasn't changed , he doesn't game-plan and scheme for each opponent . Never has .

He drew a lame playbook 10 years ago , and hasn't changed it .

If they are predictable , Garrett blames the players for lack of execution .

What's SAD is that you will NEVER hear another team say that about us.

I guess the players, especially those who have never played elsewhere, are also of the mindset that you cant do anything different, or scheme to exploit a specific opponent.

This is just ridiculous. It really is. I get that no real coach would work for Jerry but even he has to be able to do better than this....by accident.

Did anyone else see the intensity in Garrett's eyes last night? As soon as the Vikings went up 14-0, Garrett ratcheted up the intensity in those eyes that I thought he was going to burn a hole in my TV screen. He's a novel idea, direct that intensity towards your defense who just gave up a second TD in a 4 minute time span. Get in their face, embarrass them in front of all of their fans, families & friends. Show that this game means something. Heck, grab Richards by the collar and demand that he fix the problem. Nope. We'll just stare off in space, clap here and there for a hustle play and hug the opposing coach at mid-field like he's your BFF and you're so happy for him that he won a big game.

Yep, parody and rule changes have made coaching and scheme far more important. Most teams have talent.

Look no further than the template of excellence, Belichick and the Patriots. Scouting and scheme is why they win year after year, no matter the players.

We've been having this conversation for an entire decade. The only curveball was Rob Ryan as DC, who did change things up based on opponent. Since then it's been plain Jane across the board.

I honestly believe (and this is not hyperbole) 50%of the posters on this board could out-coach Garrett and 85% could do at least no worse. Of course there are about 15% on here that are truly clueless.
Yup...@ this point I honestly think I could come up with something better. I know @least my defense wouldn't beat themselves by playing out of position.

Garret has never been one to adjust much which is why Marinelli is the perfect DC for him. Marinelli doesn't change or adapt either. Both truly believe that football boils down to beating the man in front of you. They just miss the part about putting the players in the best position to succeed.

Translation:

"Well, how are we supposed to win when they don't do what we prepare for? "

Travis is about to make the mind blowing discovery that you have to ADAPT to what the opponent is doing.

This was the drive before:

4 10:53 1 6 MIN 6 Ezekiel Elliott left guard for 1 yard (tackle by Anthony Barr) 28 21 5.830 5.150
4 10:13 2 5 MIN 5 Dak Prescott PASS INCOMPLETE short left 28 21 5.150 4.260
4 10:07 3 5 MIN 5 Dak Prescott PASS INCOMPLETE short middle intended for Jason Witten 28 21 4.260 3.010
4 10:03 4 5 MIN 5 Brett Maher 23 yard field goal good 28 24 3.010 3.000
4 10:00 DAL 35 Brett Maher kicks off 65 yards, touchback.

Look at the run-pass distribution. Dak was ballin’ against certain man coverage looks with great blocking. Dak was not scoring all game in shorter fields.

Did he say how they were different? I watched the Vikings-Chiefs game and I thought the Vikings did pretty much what they did against the Chiefs. Maybe the focused on the run more, blitzed less. The Chiefs showed more speed than the Cowboys have on offenses. They got a 91 yard run for a TD on a straight run up the middle and a long TD where a WR caught the ball, turned on the burners and ran right past the defenders. The Cowboys don;t have that kind of speed on offense.

Against the Chiefs the Vikings ran pretty much the same offense and I posted it before the game. They like to get the ball outside with Cook and get him in space with screen passes. Then they like to throw long to Diggs. The Cowboys did a pretty good job on Diggs but the let Cook get to many of hose screens in the first half. They seems fooled by the way the Vikings OL would block to the right and then Cousins would drop the screen pass to Cook on the left. That's what they like to do. They move Cousins around to avoid the pass rush.
actually they do (Pollard, Austin), they just don't use them enough or properly.

On 105.3, Travis was talking about what the Minny D did to help limit the Cowboys offense. He stated the quote in the title which makes me think:

Other NFL Teams: Change schemes and plans based on opponents when / if needed.

The Dallas Cowboys under Garrett:

They just kind of did what they do,” Darnold said, via Jon Machota of The Athletic. “They do it every single week. They just play one-high (safety), occasionally two-high, and they like to stop the run. I knew that I had to throw the ball today to have success, and we did that.”
