The problem with this team has always been defense

It's the exact same problem as the Romo years. Seems like Jason is an unbalanced coach. We spend all of our time shooting ourselves in the foot and can't play special teams. It's not just one side of the ball that needs fixing.

We have the best offense in the league. Our defense gets run over and produces no turnovers. Our special team does nothing. There's 3 parts to the game. You can't be bad at two of them and win.

When your defense has your offense so afraid to score that they actually don't you have a problem. Even on the 4th Down play it appears they go for the first down instead of the touchdown. I guess the hope was to score with no time remaining :facepalm:

Defense they are #6 passing, #14 rushing, #6 points

We run a BASIC defense.

Right but also wrong. Defense is the uttermost important thing in football at the end of the day. Mahomes with Chiefs last year arguably had the best offense in the league, and even this year (if he didn't get injured), I'm sure they'd be top 5 in offense. They just lost to the Titans. They lost to the Pats last year in OT because of their defense.

Long story short, we aren't going anywhere even if Dak, Zeke, Amari, and everyone else on offense balls out if our defense allows Dalvin Cook like plays every game.

No, the problem is that with Garrett's offensive coaching, we need an elite defense to win ... not just a pretty good one.

When we get matched up against teams like Green Bay, Minnesota, New Orleans, etc., our failures on offense prevent us from being able to keep up with them. We always come up short because we are unable to do to their defenses what their offenses do to ours because of coaching. We're just rarely good enough.

Now, I'm all for building an elite defense (and getting the right coach for it) if we're going to keep Garrett around. But I believe we've had the players on offense and defense to win with better coaching.

Upgrade on RDE for passing downs, no real upgrade at DT either. LB's were the same along with the safeties.

Same coaches too.
