Roy, we didn't stack the box buddy, we ran a base D most all night... reason Cook was able to get to 2nd level and beyond on most runs.
We run the same dumb defense no matter what. When we want to stop the run, we bring a safety down into the box. The reason cook gets to the next level is because he has the speed and actually breaks tackles and makes guys miss.
And then gets hurt and misses huge chunks of the season and is completely unreliable.
Its the reason I would never take him in my fantasy draft. I have been waiting for him to get injured all year long.
However, its a great example of a back with speed, moves, breaking tackles and vision. You can see the difference between a guy like Cook and Zeke.
In a vacuum, yeah. You're using this season to grade guys who've been in the league for a while. I know you all want this flashy, shiny, whirling durvish, but even at his best Zeke was never that.
He's still a better back than Cook, he's just not having as good of a season.
Huh? elliots better but cook is just having a better season??He's still a better back than Cook, he's just not having as good of a season.
Your Lack of football knowledge is impressive ...Noone stacks the box in GB they are scared of Rodgers, Dallas didn't stack the box vs Vikings...We were in Base defense...we didn't blitz our S or LBs...I'm done trying to explain chess to a chimp...And look, one shows up!!
All great backs play against stacked boxes. Aaron Jones leads the league with 9 TD's vs stacked boxes.
Cooks played against stacked boxes as well and he torched us.
You received a perfect lesson in what a REAL RB with speed, quickness, vision, and moves is able to do vs a turd that can only run into the middle of the line.
I agree. No point in talking with kids who dont understand the Chess game of football...they look at stats onlyZeke isnt gonna have 100+ every game. He had absolutely no where to go sunday
Is the best back in the nfl?
Anyone out there still thinks it was smart to pay him 15 million?
Yeah, I haven't been impressed w/ Zeke this year, seems to lack passion, but that doesn't mean he won't wake up and start running hard again.Good players have bad games...sometimes even bad seasons.
Zeke has proven he can be the best so I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt for now.
You mean like how many people use Zeke’s total rushing yards for the past 3 years to definitively claim why he’s the best? I don’t recall Barkley ever getting the excuse that he had nowhere to run last year but yet again, when Zeke has a good game it’s because he’s so awesome with no mention of the O line (see Eagles game) but when he has a bad game it’s all the O lines fault.I agree. No point in talking with kids who dont understand the Chess game of football...they look at stats only
