Everyone was cool with him after 3 straight 100+ yard days, and now the sky is falling. I'm on the edge of my seat waiting for the story next week. .
Nope, the exact same people said he looked mediocre and were disappointed in his play. We also said he looked slightly more explosive the last two weeks so maybe he was finally rounding into shape. You just hear/see what you want to hear/see. I wish he was just out of shape. We’ve got 4 years of a declining RB signed to a mega contract.

Break away speed has never been his biggest attribute even in college. That's not to say that he never broke any big runs, but he's not a burner. What's always been his thing is burst and a violent running style.

I don't know what it is, but something has changed with him. Not only does he lack the high-end speed, but he's also lacking the burst. He can't get enough momentum going to be a violent runner and it's making him easy to tackle.

Just an unwise signing.

It just was.

I am pretty sure we will be looking to get out of that contract after 2021 or 2022, very much like Dez.
But we can't, and that's the ****ties to part.

It didnt evem take a full season for the 90% of formers to go from being gungho anout the extension to realizing it was a ****ing disaster the second we did it.

not our money..get past it.. who cares..hes worth being the 3rd -4th highest paid player on this team when Amari and Dak get more add Tank making much more etc etc

the teams issue are not EE or his deal.. its more on the defense and coaching..
that would be great if this was baseball without a salary cap. Spending $15 million on a RB is going to cost you an impact player elsewhere whether it’s Robert Quinn or Byron Jones.

I don’t blame Zeke for wanting to get paid because the Cowboys ran him into the ground his first few years. Not to mention he carried the offense while Linehan was here.

Zeke has taken a beating to his legs and body. I love Zeke but I just wish he didn’t take the team hostage.

In broken tackles out of 32 in the league. What happened to this guy? He looked amazing as a rookie and has regressed ever since. He has no burst and can’t make people miss AT ALL. Anyone else think he plays like Jerome Bettis already?

Dallas for sure can keep him for 2 more yrs and pay him a little under 25mil, and then release him in 2022 as a june 1 cut and save 11mil in cap.

Just because the headline reads 90mil doesnt mean he will get 90mil. Matter of fact its a given he wont.

lol Elliot has regressed so much that in 2017 even missing 6 games he finished 10th in rushing and lead the nfl in yrds per game. in 2018 he won the rushing title.

This yr he has the most 100yrd games with 5, even after not joing the team until week 1. Before the game vs the vikes he has 3 straightg games over 100 yrds.

He had a game which the OL didnt open up anything for him. So kets call him regressing?

The problem was his rookie deal with team option was 34 million guranteed (he was like top 3 in the NFL in guranteed money).

He should of never had leverage in that situation (cowboys front office artificially created leverage)

Zeke's leverage was this season, we wanted to win a Super Bowl (lol) and we needed him to do that. Pollard and Alfred Morris or whatever wasn't gonna cut it. If we were 8-1 no one would care if Zeke was making people miss in space.

I like Zeke and he’s obviously very important to our offense, but there’s no doubt he’s already the most overpaid player in the league.

With that said, he has better days ahead. Just in a rough patch right now imo.

Lol shut the entire hell up lmao

The "it's not your money" take still being used in 2019 when everything revolves around the CAP as we know now has to be the single dumbest stance anyone can still take.

Just give Dak $200M a year, I mean it's not your money!

This team has a lot of problems but Zeke isn't one of them. In fact, did I not hear/read some say the Vikes threw the house at stopping him and forcing Dak to beat him. It sounds like quite a bit of respect to me. Patient with our players is not our fan's strongest suit. Zeke is barely 10 games into his new deal and we're calling for his head.

Rams regret paying Gurley. Cowboys will regret paying Zeke.

I wanted to roll with Pollard and see what we had. Jerry panicked and caved. Yes, he overpaid. Zeke rubbed it in Jerry's face by spending time in Cabo while holding out when every one else was practicing. After a year like Zeke is having now, he would not have been offered more than $10M/yr. So, Jerry got fleeced for an extra $4M/yr for a couple of years. Move on.

Zeke better keep his nose clean because if his contract voids with a suspension, one suspension and most teams would dump him. Not sure Jerry would pull the string though.

...if I remember correctly, half the board claimed this guy was the best football player on the team, pending his contract holdout. I said, let him go. Keep Pollard, Morris and Smith.

Yep, it makes me sick too.

They didnt. They challenged Zeke to beat them and he couldnt.

Wherever you heard/read that was completely made up, if you did actually hear/read that.

We have many issues and Zeke's contract is a major one.

Apples and oranges ......Gurley had a history of injury issues dating back to college. Zeke has been one of the most, if not the most durable RBs in the league.

Still waiting on Jones to be impactful

Don't worry, it will not have to wait till next week. Thread 14 since the game on Zeke coming by midnight.

Who cares? We do.

I don't think Zeke is the biggest problem either, and there's no correction for the contract now, but this would hardly be the only past decision we talk about.

(Although Zeke's listing at Spotrac is a little odd. They keep calling the 2020 option both "guaranteed at signing" and an *option* bonus. The latter implies that we could *decline* that option and move on from Zeke without paying the "guaranteed" money.)

Ouch, I was not a fan of giving any RB top dollar. The Zeke deal is looking to be like the Roy Williams deal (WR).
