And people have decided to make it a National talking point.

He is bad for business one way or the other and just simply not worth whatever value he has if there is any.

People from both points of view threaten to not watch football anymore because of him...
\

and I'm calling their bluff.

I also think people are inserting their personal belief as "people" or "they"

Any fallout would be minimal, assuming no one pushes their agenda

Did anyone actually watch this guy play when he was in the league last? He was awful.

Then let's get the hire Jim Harbaugh train rolling then because he took this 'bum' to a 3 point Super Bowl loss in 2012 and an NFC Championship game the following year.

After an 8-8 season Harbaugh left and Kaepernick was stuck with the coaching talents of Jim Tomsula and then Chip Kelly to take him to NFL greatness.

Cooper Rush must be one heck of a prospect.

An opinion.

Not fact.

lol it might as well be a fact. The roar of boo's when the Dallas players took a knee a couple of seasons ago was a pretty good indicator.

We're 8 pages deep already in a thread about a scout attending his workout...

But I guess you need an official vote or something to see the obvious problem fans have with him?

He creates problems from both angles.

If he was Aaron Rodgers he'd be on a team but he's an average at best player and that was 3 years ago.

On paper, he wasn’t bad at all in 2016. I know stats can be misleading and I don’t watch enough 49ers game’s to know if this is the case.

I know he lost a lot of games, it was a pretty bad team.

He’s still probably an upgrade on Rush.

They are misleading and the same QBR you folks use to prop up Dak had him near the bottom his final two seasons. Also, he couldn’t win many games - last I checked, that’s what you hope a backup can do for you.

A lot of players would be an upgrade over Rush, you don’t have go after a 30+ year old wash up that has been out of the league for 3 seasons.

He sucks and needs to stick to his activism. That’s his future and takes less talent.

I hope you aren't trying to suggest that posters on the Cowboys Zone are an accurate representation of the population at large.

I would love for us to sign just to see all the hurt feelings it would cause.

I’m not entirely sure why you would wish for a player that would obviously become a distraction. I mean, Jerry himself stated he doesn’t want any player doing what Kap did.

You really want the owner and a player going at it publicly? It would be an idiotic signing. The fact owners are basically being forced to entertain his workout is already ridiculous enough.

The population at large might be even more divided than forum fans

This forum actually overlooks off the field problems often if they believe the player can help the team. Most fans are not this invested in football, they are casual fans that discuss football around dinner or on Facebook directly after the game.

Plenty of people dislike Kap for what he does, I’m sure a good chunk of the Cowboys fan base does. The dumb part of this forum is thinking Kap provides anything - he’s a vegan who has a tough time putting on weight as is and over 30. There is nothing this guy provides at this point.

His response also sounds like a fan that would say they hope we lose every game just so JG would get fired.

I do not believe we need a backup QB at the cost he'll be asking for. I don't see the need over a good 1T or SS.

I responded to this and I don't see my post so i'll respond again.

I do think Cowboyszone is a good representation of the population at large considering on a micro level people have a divided opinion on Kaepernick as well as the Macro level.

If that’s what works for you ok. I disagreed with it but that isn’t enough to not care for someone unless you already had something against them. Rarely saw something like that be the last straw unless someone had more stuff against someone already ime.

I never had anything against him before that. I come from a family with a military and law enforcement background. To me, that was as offensive as certain words would be to him. But of course he's untouchable. As l asked earlier, what did the NFL do about his socks?

That may be true but the i'm quitting the team forever folks aren't saying this because he's a vegan or perhaps can't be better than Cooper Rush etc.. nobody seems to want to quit forever if we sign McClains, Hardys, Gregorys etc..

A distracting PR stunt by Jones in an attempt to change/deflect the narrative given the loss to the Vikings and the controversy surrounding it while at the same time giving Jones more media attention for his bank account. It's really very simple.

Those guys have off the field problems, they aren’t doing publicity stunts that get in the way of the entertainment.

Lots of people do not believe they were 'publicity stunts'.

Why the heck would a guy threaten his livelihood for publicity stunts?
