How would the reaction had been if Dallas won Sunday?

Let's say Dallas scores a TD on that final drive and the defense held up.

Dallas would have won 31-28.

I would imagine fans and the media being much more forgiving of the coaching staff and Zeke's atrocious play.

What would have been made out of that game had it resulted in a last minute W?

A win would have solidly put the Cowboys in the playoff race. All the problems they have would still be there though.

A loss only makes making the playoffs far more difficult and riles up the fan base of the issues that never seem to go away. Primarily the inept job being done by the head coach.

In Jerry and Garretts' world, all is forgiven and forgotten - contrast that to a Bill Belichick, where he can beat a team 52-10 and still not be happy and point out a dozen things that they did wrong.

Thats the difference in coaching and culture between the 2 teams.

It would’ve showed the Cowboys can beat a potential playoff team. 11 weeks in and still haven’t beaten a contender. That’s not good at all.

Let's suppose on 4th Dak throws a TD pass.

If we score, we don't see the Austin non-return.

Still see us run on 2nd when it hadn't been working for most of the day.
Still see the blown blocking on 3rd and 2.

Still see us pigheadedly continuing to run Zeke on 1st down despite relentless failure and relentless success when we ran, just like in the Saints game.

Still see Jaylon not call a timeout with 10 defenders on the field.
Still see him take a push and then take a nap for the rest of the play.
Still see him toe drag and be unable to break down.

Still see us get systematically abused on screen plays.

Win or lose, there were some glaring failures.

Many of those ranting now would instead be ranting against those who still point out those failures as "nitpickers".

Win or lose, passing game was great and we had tons of screw ups. What a team we could have with competent coaching.

We would be hearing how Prescott is god.

Oh wait, we're still hearing that. Nevermind.

Good question. You’d still have the same Debby Downers but they wouldn’t be as loud. Had we won a game on Dak’s arm? Yeah this place would’ve been a ghost town.

Had they won the tone would have been better. Smart fans would have still complained about another slow start, the defense, OL and Zeke because there is a lot to complain about.

The reality is they lost so the what if really doesn’t matter.
