Don't think this is true at all. The knee is structurally sound. The nerve is the problem. Could be a couple of things: Maybe the nerve isn't 100% regenerated, maybe he's still reestablishing trust in his leg after the injury, maybe the scheme isn't playing to his strengths, maybe he's not going to be the all-pro that we hoped he would be. Maybe it is all of those things.

He should put the orthotic back on if it isn't already. The left foot drops and drags when he tries to break down his momentum.

Jaylon sure does like being a member of the Hot Boyz and wearing that stupid cat t shirt on his way to the game.

The elephant in the room here is that both LVE and Jaylon were not having these issues last year. The only thing that has really changed is Kris Richards involvement. He's essentially the DC if not in title. Jaylon had a PFF score of 84.5 last year. He's hovering around 60 this year. That is the PFF equivalent of going from a pro bowl player to a marginal NFL player. LVE has a similar drop off in PFF score.

So, unless there is an injury we don't know about, the only thing that explains Jaylons problems this year is Kris Richards.

pretty easy/lazy to clip one play and attach it to overall ability

I made zero statement about his ability, I literally just posted "Jaylon movement" - I have no idea what that truly means, which is why i didn't make any statement on it. I just wanted to solicit people's opinion on this. It seems obvious game after game he moves like this. Of course any one with half a heart wants him to succeed.

To be honest Jaylon is playing out of position with that knee. He needs to move into SLB \ nickel RDE role next year. He can be effective getting up field vs TE on run downs and use his straight ahead speed to rush from RDE on 3rd downs. That knee isn’t allowing him to change movement in time 5-7 yards deep.

Been saying it all year...LVE should be your Mike LBer. :banghead:

He's always been extremely overrated by the fanbase because of his story and how nice of a guy he is. That being said, he was pretty good last year. Unless his drop foot things is regressing, I dont understand how both LBs went from good to straight garbage.

This isnt new. I noticed that from him when he took over the mlb spot aftee Lee went down.

Seems as though he plays best if he was told to do one thing whether it is blitzing or cover someone.

If he is told to read and react like Lee, that video is what you will get a lot.

dud, every member of the back 7 had misses like that vs Delvin

That makes no sense.

Im not even defending Richard, but the plays you see in this thread have nothing to do with coaching.

That’s a fair take

The open field tackling issues is all on the players. The scheme and them playing 4 yds off the LOS is on the coaches. Both are problems.

Jaylon getting thrown out of a play with ease by a lineman is all on him. The coaches can help him fix that though.

I think LVE is still recovering from vertigo

And yet there are few weekly threads putting a spotlight on him.

For some reason, LVE gets a pass on bad play whereas Jaylon is just no good. Even though Jaylon has made a ton of plays this year and LVE has literally made 0 big plays. Not one.

What's the difference?

I really believe the scheme has a lot to do with it. In this play, Jaylon is nearly 9 yds off the LOS and 11 yards downfield from where Cook makes the catch. He comes in full speed and overruns the play when Cook makes one quick move. Meanwhile, LVE is much closer to the LOS has a direct shot at Cook and whiffs. LVE easily makes that tackle last year. Should Jaylon have made the tackle, absolutely. He came in out of control, didn't break down, etc. But if LVE makes that tackle we're not talking about Jaylon on this play.

LVE has been downright terrible too. But that video of Jaylon brings back memories of Deion against the run.

That's not a direct shot at Cook, by any stretch. This is a win for LVE, even though you want him to make the tackle. LVE made some of these plays last year, but you absolutely can't expect him to make this tackle here.

Side note, this is classic Zeke. Set up the defender and cut back behind the block. It's one of those things where you break the tackle before the defender even gets there that no RB - Zeke in particular - ever gets credit for.
