Firing Jason Garret is the only solution to turn this ship around

Garrett is history after the season over. We have to suffer through the consequences one last time.

Garrett will go not with one big explosion, but one final disappointing season. Pretty ironic.

That was all Jerry, the drafts and decision making were just at an all time low. Horrendous from the draft to free agency to the cap to the ridiculous trades. It was a complete mess.
Yep! And Jerry is still here doing what he’s always done.
Any new HC is already at a disadvantage with booger and his son at the helm.

It's a night and day difference from talent level to the drafts. Someone is making much smarter decisions. This isn't the 5-11 mess from the pre Parcells era, there's quality players here. I'm no fan of Jerry but gameday coaching is pure garbage and very fixable.

Just coz is not as bad as the Campo years doesn’t mean he’s doing a good enough job.
Still one of only three teams in the NFC to have not made the NFC Championship since 1995.

Jerry Jones writing an edict stating none of his brood may work, deal or have say in the Cowboys organization except to recieve their money from it

I get that and I'm definitely not happy about it. But Jerry isn't going anywhere so the only viable option is a new coach. A quality HC can make a huge difference and take a pretty talented team further than what we've been seeing.

Indeed, but there’s only so far a quality HC can take a team with a substandard front office.
And of course that’s assuming we get a quality HC in the first place.

You can "promote" him to be the head of Cowboys archives. Let him talk about the Cowboy greats. He's good at making dumb speeches and I believe he was a history major.

hey, that gives me an idea

Garrett can hang out with a self styled Cowboy historian who used to be on this board and reminisce about all the SBs he led us to as HC

if they turn it into a radio show some of their homies can call in

it’ll be a hoot

:omg:

Jerry knows his days are numbered. In the past year he's made some big moves to make sure Red has the tools to get it done.

Red is not getting it done, Red has lost the team Red is gone sooner than later.

Jerry will get the first pick of the new available coaches, and yes this time he'll hire a real one!

you heard it here first.

Garrett needs to go but as long as you have Jerry nothing will change. Jerry is like Al Davis. Things didn't change until Al was gone. Dallas is the same way but lucky for the Raiders. And just like Al we'll have to deal with Jr. Hopefully Jr isn't a power crazed-wanna be coach and owner like the senior was.

I held back on this old beaten down debate, but until Garret is fired this team will be held back.

The question is Jerry Jones & Stephen Jones willing to ruin this season just in order to bring Dak’s contract down ( that’s why they kept Garret)? I believe going to Zeke at the end was a message to Dak that he doesn’t matter.

It's actually not. Firing Garrett now changes what exactly?

He doesn't run the offense. He doesn't run the defense. He doesn't run special teams. For the most part he lets those coaches coach their units with just small input from him. Do you think Moore gets better? That is doubtful as Garrett isn't standing in his way, that's a false narritive. You think suddenly Marinelli or Richards does something different like ask their DL to make a dang tackle? Nope that will be the same too. In fact some of these coaches might just start looking for work else where once Garrett is gone, they might quit on the team and there are some players that may quit too depending on who gets appointed as interim coach. What Garrett should do is fire the ST coordinator if he did indeed mislead him as to what he told Tavon and then put Marinelli on the hot seat if he doesn't get that DL and LB corps together for a whole game against a good opponent.

If the Cowboys fire garrett here are 2 scenarios

KM takes over HC duties and playcalling=doom
Jerry brings in a HC to take over while the season winds down with KM as playcaller=doom

if anything the only way we will get rid of Garrett is if the Cowboys tank the season...might get our wishes the way things are going.

Some horrible drafting lately.. Charlton, Hill, Awuzie, Williams? Terrible wastes of 1st and 2nd rounders

you never hit on every pick and you have to include Cooper. Still a huge difference from the pre Parcells era of team management. Even after Parcells left, the decision making was horrible from the coaching hires to the RW trade to the 'special teams draft'. This is a much better team today. And with a better coach and scheme those players aside from Taco could possibly improve. Right now even the quality talent on the roster is a terrible waste.

I guess you’re assuming Jerry is not going to hire another puppet?
