For 1st round pick is it more important to get DL or CB?

DT has been a position of weakness all year but after last night is it more important to upgrade Chidos spot and maybe Byrons if he walks?

What does the draft look like at each position?

Curtis Weaver,DE-Boise St
K'Lavon Chaisson,DE-Lsu
Raequan Williams,DT-Michigan St
Rashad Lawrence,DE/DT-Lsu

Depends who is there at DL.

I'd rather go WR than CB. First-round corners are just too hit or miss.

You don't want another Taco or Hill, but if a DL of quality is there, and not a reach, then that is preferable to a quality corner. The DL is still very weak in the middle specifically, and has been for years.
Still can't force the pick though.

ALWAYS depends on who is there and do they deserve to be taken that early.

Taking a 2nd round value player in the 1st based on perceived need is fastest way to blow a draft and maybe skip over a star.

DT by a mile. Because if you want this inconsistent D play to ever stop, you must be strong up front.

I think we are going to need both positions very, very badly. Quinn, Collins and Woods are all probably walking on the DL, and Byron and Brown are walking in the secondary. We also need a new SS like yesterday. Basically, both the DL and the secondary are going to need be completely rebuilt in one offseason.

All other things equal, I'd rather have DL than CB, but it depends who's on the board.

I just worry about this team prioritizing position (3Tech Trysten Hill) over talent (Juan Thornhill).

I completely understand and agree with certain positions having more value, but we can't be so rigid that we are passing up on significantly better players because we are prioritizing that positional value.

Basically, if you have equal grades on Hill and Thornhill, than yes, take the guy who plays the more valuable position.

Also, if you had equal grades on Hill and Thornhill, fire the people assigning grades.

For me it is SAFETY and it is not even close. Dallas is so inept at that position it is hurting tem very bad. Tompson looks pathetic. He was responsible for 2 TD's yesterday. He needs to be shown the door. After that then DT. If we had a average safety, I would say upgrade the DT position. But we don't even have an average safety so that is the biggest need on this team IMHO.

For THIS team it’s CB. I don’t trust this team evaluating DL. Rather sign a proven vet like McCoy on a 1 year deal.

Both are in major need of talent infusion, but I'd go DT because gotta fix the trenches first.

The CB position usually stretches IMO so I’d go DL first most of the time. The only reason I’d go CB first is if he’s a can’t miss prospect. We have to dominate in the trenches to play good defense and a CB doesn’t help us from getting gashed by opponent’s run games.

My vote is DL and given how the team is falling faster and faster this could be a top 12 pick

Looks like that happened to us twice in the last few years. Taco(soft taco) and Hill. I have to agree that we have to see who falls to us.

I can't think of any scenario where I'd draft a first-round CB.

Deion Sanders maybe, but they just don't change games in the NFL. They can't.

Probably need to go offensive line.

Tyron is about done, Frederick is iffy on his recovery, Martin and Lael have bad backs, and Williams sucks.

I think the FO wanted Thornhill and got talked into Hill
