Man this one still hurts.

PFF's:

#1 edge rusher in the NFL
#2 defender overall in the NFL

Taco Charlton
Connor Williams
Trysten Hill

Somebody explain to me why Will McClay's seat should be safe.

https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-t-j-wa...ds-all-qualifying-edge-defenders-in-pff-grade
and we passed on him cause of our supposed super wise coaches and scouts who thought he was not scheme fit....i dont know nothing but i watched college tape on Taco and he was slow and i wanted TJ WATT....but for most part the scouts are doing good job

I’d rather keep McClay and fire Rod Marinelli. Those all all his picks that he advocated for. Fire the bloody coach whose defense gets run over more times than road kill.[/QUO
Rods defense was good in 2000-2003...but NFL has figured it out...we get torched for over agressive rush and lanes wide open to run a semi through

If Watt's knee holds up...........

For now he is looking good.

Seriously the guy had multiple knee surgeries before he was even out of college....dude appeared to be a ticking time bomb for injuries and we'll end up seeing if he plays more than a couple more years.
I liked his talent but honestly at the time I didn't want EITHER of them. Hindsight? Yeah of course i'd take him but i'd still be incredibly weary of his injury history. If he keeps playing this way he's going to get a massive contract and who wants to give that out to an injury prone player?

Way too much input in this organization. From draft to Free Agency, to game plan. Input from Scouts, Will McClay, Jerry, Stephen, Jason, Rod, Etc. All this “collaborative effort” that Jason Garrett speaks of annoys the heck out of me. The HEAD-COACH should have the most input period! He should have the best eye for what talent fits what they want to do. Should’ve been Garrett deciding Watt was the guy over soft Taco. Part of a bigger problem with this organization.

He is not on our team, get over it. This should be posted in the NFL Zone. This has nothing to do about our team.
Actually, it does. Proves that Marinelli sucks...and so does this front office for listening to him during the draft.

Well if that’s the case then what are we discussing here? McClay liked him and had him graded higher. Doesn’t sound like he’s to blame to me. What else could he have done?
We don't let Rod who lived off Semion Rice and Warren Sapp make any football decisions. Especially considering his greatest succeess was with Tony Dungy and Lovie Smith's players.

If Taco and Hill are subtracted from the fails, drafting has been good. Both were Marinelli picks so getting him out of the draft process would be smart. Firing him as DC would be even smarter.
How int he world is Hill a fail?

This is madness.

Its a really sad state affairs in the cowboys scouting department when we need a DE..........and they think Taco is the better prospect.
