That was under Parcells.. Bledsoe would of never lost his job under Garrett.
It wasn’t Parcells who benched Drew and initiated the Romo era ......... it was JJ. The INT Bledsoe threw in the end zone just before halftime against the Giants was the straw that pi$$ed Jerry off and made him go down to the field IIRC.

Question for the Zoners. When is the last time a player lost his job solely based on performance? Nothing about injury or off field issues. Just performance. I honestly can’t come up with one
I have only read the first page of the thread but jumped back here to reply how crazy it is reading examples posted after you emphasized 'nothing about injury'.

Right.

Parcell's arrived and released Carter who Jerry very badly wanted to be right about.

A week before cutting Q, Parcells kicked Chad Hutchinson, someone that Jerry won a bidding war for just two years prior, to the curb.

Parcells immediately saw that Drew Henson, another highly prized Jerry acquisition, was hot garbage and ran him out of town.

Parcells clearly wasn't taking orders from Jerry on QBs.

Fredbeard lost His job due to illness (which technically isn't injury), Looney lost His job due to Fredbeard's recovery.
Other than silly semantics, I've got nothing, sorry.

first off this is the NFL not college or HS with unlimited rosters.. we have 43 plus the PS..no one on the PS is better then 43 active weekly players.. 22 starters are typically front line players and would have to be GOD Awful to get benched because the players behind them arent better in most situations.. teams dont sit superstars or front line starters unless its just ugly..

regardless of the feelings in here Heath , Williams, witten, zeke and whomever you think should be benched or demoted, its your feelings.. stats and vide have proven many wrong on the actual overall performances of all these players by the coaches, WHO ACTUALLY KNOW WHOSE ASSIGNMENTS ARE WHOS AND WHO ARE MAKING THE MISTAKES..

WE DO NOT, YOU DO not..

Are we under the impression every current starter got their position because their predecessor got injured or had off the field issues?

The reality is mid season demotions are rare for any team. Mostly it happens prior to the following season where the new signee or draft pick gets the job, and the predecessor is cut or his contract expires.

Ronald Leary when Collins was signed as an UDFA and inserted into the left gaurd position. Whoever was the starting wr when Cooper was traded for. Bernardeou when Martin was taken with the 16th pick!

A long time. In my opinion Heath, Chido, Smith, Williams, Woods, and Maher should all be replaced.
