Right now, if you could pick one QB to be the QB of your team, who would you take?

In their prime or as they are now?

In their prime, I would choose Brady or Aaron Rodgers or even Peyton Manning. (There are probably a few others I'd throw in there.)

If you are talking Romo or Dak, I would choose prime Romo right now, but understand that Romo didn't hit his prime until his ninth year as starter. He was very good at times before that, but the year we finally decided that we needed to establish a running game and not put everything on his shoulders allowed Romo to shine brighter than ever before.

I'm not sure when Dak will reach his peak. Now, if his play this year is the best we get, I'm not knocking that, but I hope he has a 2014 in him or even better prime year like players like Brady, Rodgers and Manning have had in their careers.

If we want to put 2011 Romo against 2018 Dak, I'd have trouble deciding.

If he can keep up this level of production and get beyond the Divisional round, absolutely.

2011 Romo is literally 10x better than Dak. 2011 was one of Romo’s best seasons.

I gotta say yes...

In every category...

Dak is becoming elite... Romo was exciting, but hed always pull some boner, and he crapped the bed more than a few times... Plus, Romo was really just an imminent back injury waiting to happen in a helmet...

It’s also nice not hearing about Dak’s golfing efforts and failures...

Honestly, I'm going to say yes - and I was a monster Romo fan.

Dak comes across as a vastly superior leader (I suppose it's impossible to know for sure without being part of the team), he's a better play maker, he's generally more responsible with the football, he's more clutch, etc.

Bottom line, if the game is on the line, I'll take Dak 10/10 times over Romo.

It's a Romo hater bait question - not taking the bait.
Apples to oranges as most already know. Both are awesome QBs with totally different personnel around them. So what's your point?

2011 Romo is literally 10x better than Dak. 2011 was one of Romo’s best seasons.

That season is pretty close to what Dak is doing now. Romo completed 66.3 percent of his passes; Dak is completing 67.7. Romo threw 31 TD passes; Dak has thrown 21. Romo threw 10 interceptions; Dak has thrown 9.

Dak has a slightly better average per pass (8.8 to 8.0) and we can't discount his 193 yards rushing and 3 TDs.

I think Romo is a Hall-of-Fame-caliber quarterback who won't get there because his team wasn't good enough, but what Dak is accomplishing this year is very comparable to 2011 Romo.

I give Romo the edge because I think his interception numbers are going to be lower unless Prescott only throws one the remainder of the season. However, Prescott's TD passes and yardage look like they will end up higher than Romo's, which mitigates the interception numbers.

Time will tell in the postseason.

Alot of people's issues with Romo related to postseason failures. And they consider his success as a passer as empty yards.

Right now Dak-led teams have achieved the same as Romo-led teams in the postseason. If/when that changes, then I guess we can finally move Dak ahead of Romo.

I liked Romo. Like him as a commentator too. I wasn't a fan of the change to Dak, but I understood it.

That said, I'm finally happy with Dak's progress as a passer this year. He has not been the primary reason for any of the losses and the team has been in position to win most of the games they've played this season.

Of course, you do have to take into account the team around them. in 2011, we had just drafted Tyron Smith, starting him off at right tackle. Our other starting linemen were LT Doug Free, G Derrick Dockery, C Phil Costa and G Kyle Kosier. Romo didn't get very many pockets like Dak had Sunday.
