Surprising to see so few threads today calling out the defense

I mean the fact Rod couldnt scheme a spy in for driskel was making me crazy. The stunts constantly put the d line in a compromise. Its awful to watch tbh

Realistically they are a top 10 Defense. Seems odd watching them struggle to get off the field and giving up runs..

They have never been a top 10 defense. The last part of last season was who they really were

If they stopped the stunts they would improve there run Defense immediately. They are getting caught stunting and the rb is having big holes. I am not convinced that Richard has taken complete control. He can call the plays but from Marinelli playbook.

FYI. I actually think this Driskel kid is going to be a star.

He is an unrestricted free agent. I imagine numerous teams will try to sign him. Maybe the Skins will dump Haskins and go with Driskel.
Would be hilarious if Driskel turns out to be better than Goff and Wentz. All drafted in 2016.

Stats show otherwise but I agree. They kept saying last year that this Defense was for real. The LBs are real. But this year has missed tackles and D-Line isn’t keeping them clean, because they are to busy stunting. That rams game last year exposed them and showed the way to play them. This year teams are playing them the same as the rams did and we aren’t changing anything to help...

This has been the story of the Dallas Cowboys since even before the Garrett era. I think the problems with the defense go even above the coaches.

It wasn't a golden defensive effort by any stretch, the defense gave up a little over 300 yards of offense. They weren't great, but they weren't a "sieve" either.

A backup QB put up 27 points on us and Bo Scarbrough looked like a pro bowler. Plenty to talk about.

I can't tell if it's Garrett's stubbornness or naivity that makes him bring in clowns like Ryan, Kiffin, and Marinelli.

The defense isn't any good. They can't pick the offense up when they have an off game. It's all on the offense to carry them. Cowboys haven't won a single game when scoring under 30 points. Of course the special teams might be worse than the defense.

Not sure what’s been worse. ST or defense?

LVE and Jaylon are the most disappointing unit of the team and Awuzie shouldn’t even be starting over Lewis.

Marinelli and Richard need to go; absolutely laughable that some thought Richard should be intermHC. All the coaches, HC, DCs, and ST need to be cleaned out

This franchise places little emphasis on the defense and it shows. Think of the many seasons Romo and company put up points just to be sabotaged by a half-arse defense. Jerry often publicly laments how he didn't put a better team around Romo, does he learn from his mistakes or is he going to do the same thing to Dak?

Well they drafted Taco and Hill and just whiffed on them. Gregory is a pothead.

Taking Zeke over the All pro corner was where we went wrong.

Bill Billichick will anticipate all of these idiotic stunts and will scheme the perfect play calls against them. The ONLY thing Dallas can do is to not stunt at all in that game and that would be a HUGE improvement for this defense. It would catch Bill off guard. But we already know Marinelli will stunt on every freaking play just like he always does because he is a football IDIOT. Guys like him prove that just because people play the game doesn't mean they know what the heck they are talking about. For all of those ex players who think Marinelli is some sort of defensive guru.

Maybe some real DTs would make the DEs and LBs look as good as they supposedly are. We have been skimping at DT since Laroi Glover. Got lucky with Ratliff.
