Yeah, you know how it goes.........we are all smarter as we get older.............were you smoking anything when you wrote this or were you making a joke?

Actually, I was thinking about those games where the Cowboys had a big lead and Romo threw 3 INTs to give the lead back. Thanks for reminding me, Dak protects the ball better too.

Romo had a great release and a average arm. Romo had the best "eyes in the back of his head" I've ever seen as far as knowing when to duck/move/spin.

Neither has a rocket arm. Daks seems to be a little stronger but he still can't make all the throws . Very few can. Dak is better on the run, Dak knows his limitations, took Romo 6 years to learn his.

I'd put Romo in 5th position as far as all time Cowboy QBs.(IMO). Dak has the potential to make the top 3.

Dez made Romo in 2014 with his leaping catches. Linehan saved Romo in 2014 with his horizontal attack. Without 2014 Romo isn't even in the convo.
Dak can make all the throws. This is a scouting term, used to denote if a QB has the arm strength and accuracy to make throws.

If you look at the theory of leadership, they both can be looked at as leaders. Dak definitely falls under the "Great Man" theory. Romo was more of a skills based leader but that took time for him to develop. By the time he developed that leadership style, he'd already had a worn down body.
I guess.

What Romo learned was to shut up and quit getting involved in those little petty games. He learned to not be an anti-leader, but he was never a leader.

Another bar room brawl about Romo vs Dak.

This is silly. Can't we cheer for both???

Guess not.

No this is a term for a guy who can throw a 20yd out, or even on display last night, cannot throw a quick out to the sideline. DB's have too much time to react. Watch Troy make those throws and watch Romo or Dak try them.
So again, I like Dak and he's great at more than enough throws to win anything or any game. Just got to play to his strengths.
But he cannot make all the throws.

Towards the last few years of his career, he absolutely was a leader. Now, you can debate how effective his was leadership actually was in that case. Romo's leadership would have been better had he had a strong leadership above him. Dak is a rare individual who just leads (and people follow) in spite of what is around him.

I recall something early on that excited me.

It was a trainer that trained both Tom Brady and Dak and he said they were very similar in regard to work ethic, and wanting to be the best.

For what it’s worth.

Edit: found it.

I am the self-appointed most hated Romo person on this board, but I will say that Romo was dynamic, exciting to watch. Just didn’t take life overly serious and that’s why he’s a dominant color guy in CBS. People love the guy, so do I, on TV.
But as a football player, he was just not mature. Took unnecessary risks at the most inopportune times of the game, and would literally freeze up in play off games. He wasn’t as loosy goosy as he should have been in the play offs. There is a difference between being loose, and not taking things seriously. Win or lose, didn’t really matter to him in the grand scope of things.

On the other hand, you have Dak Prescott. This guy lives and breathes football. He’s like Pac-Man, just gobbling up information. If there is any coach in this world who is a serious coach, And Jerry Jones decides to hire him,we will win the Super Bowl

Right now Dak is 1-2 in the playoffs and Romo was 2-4. Same win % in half as many games.

Let's see how Dak's career plays out before we crown him with anything. He has yet to make a deeper playoff run than Romo, or accumulate more playoff wins. He should have plenty of time to do it, but hasn't done it yet.

Leadership, clutch, dual threat.

Personally, I would take Dak 10 times out of 10 over Romo. Its getting to the point where you almost cant say that Romo was the better passer.

I give Romo the edge on pocket awareness, but Dak is getting better at that as well.
I'm not sure, Dak has been stepping up and moving around in the pocket crazy good. His footwork is much better this season and I think he is right there with Romo on awareness

Is he now better than Romo and if not, will he get there?

Lets remember that Romo finally started in his 4th year in the league.
Two different quarterbacks. Two different situations I don't like comparing.

Which throw specifically?

Im completely burned out on this question but there is one answer for either side of the debate.

It doesn’t matter who’s better because without a defense that can compete against elite QBs in the playoffs neither one of them had/has/ or will have a chance for team success and ultimately a Super Bowl.

Jerry constantly laments he wasted Tony’s career and now he’s off to a good start on Dak’s.

For the ones saying Dak’s more durable Romo was pretty durable in the beginning but took a beating extending plays. The Jones’s learned to beef up the line. I’ll admit I was a romo homer but I have come around on Dak

If Romo was QB of this team:
- They would be 8-2 right now with them beating Minnesota by Romo checking out of the run plays and beating NO and NYJ with better play but inexplicably losing to Washington or NY with a 4 int game from Tony.
- They would end up the 2 seed and lose 45-42 in the first round with Romo taking all of the blame because he makes a poor throw in the 4th quarter trying to make up for that 45-28 deficit

With Dak, they may or may not make the playoffs and if they do, they will lose 45-28 to someone and the defense will be blamed.

Seriously though, they are both good but not great QB's. Even yesterday a lot of Dak's throws are just . . . off. He makes up for it by making smart throws. At the end of the day though, it takes a team (and a coaching staff) to be truly successful and that's something neither Dak nor Tony have.
Romo can play DT or Safety?
