I know Witten is in on something like 80% of snaps but any clue how many snaps jarwin is getting? He just makes plays when the ball is in his hands. He iced the game this week. He is a giant killer. Good td last week, he gets from A to B nicely. Witten came back and was supposed to take a lesser role. But we knew that because it was left up to Witten to take himself off the field when he wanted to that he wouldn’t do it. And it can be to the damage of the team. You can call it selfish or whatever you want...
He's Witten's back up AND sometimes they play with both guys in the game. He and Witten have different skill sets, and the team can benefit from both. I would like to see Jarwin get 3-4 targets per game rather than the 1-2 he normally gets.Says every play-by-play guy who calls our game. Is he really just Witten's back-up, spelling the old man periodically during the game, or is there some situational strategy behind when and how he is being used?
He may not be the blocker Witten is but he adds a receiving option Witten doesn’tIt means his run blocking isn't up to snuff. That's why he not an "every down" tight end like old man Witten.
Remember how Rico would come in, and everyone knew it was a pass because he couldn't block? Definitely not to that level, but to the level where he still sits behind Witten. Jason still has the ability to get open, although his YAC isn't great.
Through the first 10 weeks (9 games - this past week isn't included), according to Footballoutsiders.com, Witten was in for 75.7% of the offensive snaps, Jarwin for 38.3% and Schultz for 8.8%.I know Witten is in on something like 80% of snaps but any clue how many snaps jarwin is getting?
I’d like to see him get more snaps than he is
I like a TE down the seam plus there is a advantage to getting him involved besides just his playmaking, he’s about to be a FA
If we can’t keep him I want someone to pay him top money lol

I don't blame Witten for playing the snaps the team asks him too. He's there to play football, not to call plays or set lineups. If the team wants him to play less, it's up to the team to make that happen. He just makes plays when the ball is in his hands. He iced the game this week. He is a giant killer. The decision of the coach had been taken out of the equation apparently. Guessing the decision comes down from the top... But just a guess. It's selfish when a player wants to be on the field contributing? What player doesn't? And what player doesn't think he shouldn't be starting?
It's a coaching decision.
Jarwin is better at periodically having a big play. Witten is a future Hall Of Famer, who's still better at better at moving the chains.
Take your pick.
Ok. Perhaps I am wrong then, maybe he is taking himself out more. I know they said it’s up to him to take himself out of the game. Jarwin needs more targets for sure. That said, he is playing less than 2017. He played 98% of the snaps then, and is playing about 76% of the snaps now. I personally don't care that much about snap count. I'm more concerned about targets. I would like to see Jarwin get more targets.
I agree he needs more play time. I didn’t know he is about to be a FA. Thought he had another year. If Witten is finally done after this year then maybe we sign him fairly cheap. Shultz has gotten less playing time then anyone.I know Witten is in on something like 80% of snaps but any clue how many snaps jarwin is getting?
