I dont know of any QB in NFL history that as as much a history as Romo as far as coming up small in big situations.

The book is closed on him, and not Dak so its hard to really. However, Romo isnt a guy I want to be able to compare him too when it does close

Dak was good enough to keep Romo benched while Romo was in his prime. Honestly the goal for Dak should be to compared to Aikman and Staubach. Being compared to Romo is like saying who is the greatest loser. Maybe that is extreme because Dak and Romo are/were better than average QBs but it absolutely means nothing without a ring if you are the QB for the Cowboys.

Not IMO. Romo had one of the quickest releases I've ever seen and was quite accurate, though not as accurate as Aikman.

Romo was snake bit though. He had three good to very good teams - never any great ones - and many really bad ones, and had one real year under a solid head coach. Always having to do too much to overcome other deficiencies, and the few times he played boneheaded, he never really had a team or coach to help overcome them or reign him in like other good to great QBs that did the same.

If Parcells stuck around for a few more years I think most people would be talking differently about Romo. But Parcells, Jerry and the rest of the NFL didn't want it.

Romo is an athlete. Great at football. Very good at golf. And pretty darn good at basketball too.

Well first off Tony Romo is the best passer in Cowboy history so he has Dak on that .
Dak is a more durable QB and his availability helps the team , Tony not so much

Tony dated some of the hottest girls of any QB so he has Dak on that so far
Dak is the best rushing QB in Cowboy history and his being a duel threat makes him a real handful for defenses. Tony rarely ran past the line of scrimmage

Although Tony didnt rush the ball he was very elusive in the pocket early in his career and extended plays with this skill . Dak is not as elusive but much stronger and is not easily taken down also extending plays . So that one is a toss up

Tony Romo was one heck of a tough guy playing with a punctured lung and constant back pain . Dak has yet to have to play through that kind of pain
That said Dak looks far better conditioned than Romo ever was .

I really get the feeling the whole team would walk through the fire for Dak where with Tony there did not seem that level of dedication have to give Dak the edge in leadership .
I feel both players worked hard on perfecting their game but I have to say Dak seems a bit more grounded at a young age while Tony was a bit star struck till he got married.

All that said who is better will have to wait till Daks career is over , if he has any luck in the world he wont be hamstrung forever with the horrible coaching that wasted Tonys career .I know I am happy with Dak as our QB he represents our franchise well and feel we were very lucky to get him in the 4th round as we really did no preparation for the end of Tonys career . He has given us good value and improved his game every year excited to see him fully mature and take us to a SB

If I remember correctly, Romo was judged on Super Bowl appearances and wins. So to be fair, they both have achieved neither...
That’s true, but unfortunately everybody has realized that its the head coach and not the quarterback. Romo deserved at least a Super Bowl and I think now it’s evident that Jason Garrett is absolutely horrible.

Is he now better than Romo and if not, will he get there?

Lets remember that Romo finally started in his 4th year in the league.

I remember that when Romo went in to start the 2nd half against the giants and became the starter from then on his first pass was a pick.

No this is a term for a guy who can throw a 20yd out, or even on display last night, cannot throw a quick out to the sideline. DB's have too much time to react. Watch Troy make those throws and watch Romo or Dak try them.
So again, I like Dak and he's great at more than enough throws to win anything or any game. Just got to play to his strengths.
But he cannot make all the throws.
That must be your own assessment, as it is inaccurate.

Hopefully we can have a better measuring stick for Dak’s career than Romo, when it’s all said and done.
