I wish, but no - if they drop this game but still finish 10-6 and make it to the NFCCG, he’ll be back.
But the opposite is true. If the Cowboys pull off this upset, it’ll go a long way toward securing Garrett’s job. And the reality is that this is a winnable game. It’s probably going to come down to coaching.
Hopefully you're wrong, and I think you are. We're all just guessing, though, nobody but Jerry knows for sure what he'll do.
Of course if they beat the Pats, and win the SB or lose the playoff game due to another "Dez caught it" type thing, then I'd be okay with having him back, why "mess with success" if that's true.
Sooner or later every team falls back into mediocrity, or worse. Pats are no different. At this point the decline is starting, not hugely or suddenly, but it's beginning, starting with Brady.
But the Pats are still the team to beat, just based on they're being the SB champs, Brady still very good, Belichick still being there and until they drop off significantly.
We'll know Sunday...
