The sad part on if Dallas beat the Pats

Most teams win games like this and get hot the rest of the way on into the playoffs. Sometimes those teams get to the championship and even the SB.

The disturbing thing about Dallas is even if we beat the pats, it will still not be enough for this team to turn the corner.

They could still turn around and blow every game left on the schedule by shooting themselves in the foot because that is just the type of unpredictable team this is.

I am not as hyped about the Pats as most, only because I know that "Cowboys vs Cowboys" remains on standby every week.

At some point Dallas will need to find a way to get consistent. Not their cup of tea.

Sir you have surmised our Head Coaching dilemma very succinctly...

This is my fear too. Great post

Dallas winning, getting hot, and then having a complete meltdown in the Wild Card round is the most Dallas scenario I can imagine. So yeah, agreed.

ironic that you know this even though

just last year they went from 3-5 to 10-6, a division win, a playoff win...

in 2016 we won 11 in row and each week I remember the fans around forums saying well no way we beat Gb, Pittsburgh , and others as they havent played anyone, after each game the same so called experts, we will need romo back etc etc but guess what that did NOT Happen.. they kept winning no matter the opponent..

I realize it gets frustrating at times this season but this staff with nearly the same team has done this very thing 2 out of 3 years..so it can be done again.. its why we play the games..

so we cant turn it around is what based on what you think you know? The NFl is a week to week league so whatever you think will happen , the opposite sometimes happens..

Oh, whoa is us! Don't forget the holy trinity of CONSPIRACY! against us as well: Goodell, Mara, and henchmen refs. Let's all just not watch the rest of the season since we know anything good will be followed by something bad.

Man, learned helplessness if ever I saw it.

Well, I must admit, a win against the Pats on Sunday and I have a completely different perspective on the rest of the season for the Cowboys.

Knowing this team, a victory over the Patriots might actually deflate the Cowboys. It could make the Cowboys crest a wave, emotion-wise, and then have less energy down the stretch.

Yes I do believe a Patriots win could take alot out of this team.

This team would get WAYYYY too hyped after winning against the Pats, they'd likely lose the next game (Bills). This team doesn't have the maturity to handle themselves consistently after big wins to win said games after.
Last year after we won against the Saints, we won against the Eagles, and then proceeded to lay an egg against the Colts. When we won a big game against the Hawks, we lost against the Rams. Garrett never had this team psychologically or mentally prepped up for big games or games following the big games.

I posted something similar earlier in the "Mollywhopped" thread ..
The problem with games like this is there is no real upside no matter the outcome.

Over the last several years, when the Cowboys lose games like this, they play better in the following games but never seem to do anything in the playoffs against good teams.

When they win games like this, they (and everyone else) think they are better than they are and usually struggle to win games afterwards.

The best outcome for the Cowboys would be for the Cowboys to win or lose by 1 or 2 points to help temper the hype or the pessimism.

Didn't the Giants almost beat the Patriots one year and use a close loss to propel them to the Superbowl where they beat the Patriots? Yeah, that's not us.

There is no sad thing if the Cowboys beat the Pats unless you have a loser mentality and come up with some bad thing.

I don't know why you would. Win or lose, we are still aren't making much noise IF we make it in the playoffs. Win or lose, Garrett is here to stay and the only way is not the headcoach is if he gets a promotion. Otherwise, Jerry will never admit failure.

It won't be a problem. We're not beating the Pats.
