I wouldn't want to be in combat or in any type of team environment with most of you all. Why such a defeatist, cup cake soft, loser mentality? The best this team has to offer could very well be in front of us? Who knows?

I don't get the point of "what the season could have been" when we are currently in the playoffs and lead the division.

What the season could have been or will be is not determined. The coaches are the same now as they were 11 weeks ago. We knew who they were.

The only thing it could have been that it is not is home field advantage through the playoffs!

This year we came into the season with Superbowl aspirations. The only thing that everyone was hesitant about was our coaching staff (rightly so).

This season couldn't have worked out better for us on paper. Everything seemed to be falling our way. We had a meeting with the Saints missing Brees, Green Bay with no Adams, Minnesota missing Thielen and Waynes.

Then the actual games were played and we were completely out coached and out manned. Coaching has costed us a chance at HFA throughout the playoffs and it sucks. This team should have been 7-1 going into the bye if not perfect if our coaching staff knew how to exploit weaknesses and game plan properly.

Gaffes in play calls, taking the ball OUT of our playmakers hands and relying on beating the man in front of you mantra has hopefully seen its last days in Dallas. I think that Jerry is starting to come around on this and I for one am very hopeful. There is still a lot of football to be played and I think we make the playoffs but I am in no way hopeful of a Superbowl like I was before week 4.

I'm not sure how the Cowboys went from getting rolled in the divisional round to Super Bowl this offseason, but I did see the chatter. Setting aside the fact that the Cowboys aren't the only team who looked to improve their roster, what additions did Dallas make to go two more rounds in the playoffs? Tristen Hill? Cobb? Pollard? Covington? The coaching staff was largely unchanged.

The only noticeable differences this season are an improved passing game and a lesser running game. Defense is "doing what they do" with the usual results.

To be honest, I doubt we'll get past the first game of the playoffs, even if we're fortunate enough to qualify. There's enough room for doubt that we'll even qualify for that particular honor, since the coaching and resulting play hasn't been anything special.

Obviously, the remainder our schedule is extremely challenging, in comparison to what awaits the Eagles. It should prove intriguing to see how Jerry reacts after claiming he's unwilling to accept less than a conference title. Was that mere posturing? We'll see. ;)

You left out Quinn and Bennett. That's 10.5 sacks and countless knock downs and hurries.

Some of y’all will never get it. The entire culture has to change with this organization before we can ever spell super bowl. It’s starts at the top! Everything else is fool’s gold!

You might ought to consider charging Jason Garrett rent.

Absolutely spot on. My one and only counter, if it is that, is the overall regression of the defense from last years performance standard.

I guess you could theoretically lump this under the coaching and front office umbrella as well, as DT and safety yet again were neglected and Marinelli kept his job once again. Lots of the dee players just seem to have stepped back in their consistency level and I can’t give the individual players a free pass on their performance in spite of the coaching deficiencies.

Nice post.

I endorse this message.

As per usual, poor coaching has cost us. It's worse this year because it's not just clock management, it's entire games where we just refuse to do what works on offense and pigheadedly stick to what doesn't.

The defense has also looked bad against backup QBs. "We do what we do."

And the decision to sit Devin Smith likely cost us the Jets game. With Cobb out, and Cooper coming up lame, we just didn't have enough at true wideout to finish the game.
