He said "Watching Xavier Su’a-Filo play, it’s obvious the #Cowboys run game greatly misses Connor Williams." Uh what happened to the run game when Connor last played? He's acting like Connor is Larry Allen in his prime, I couldn't tell a noticeable difference in the oline play.

Exactly I'm more concerned about Prescott having time in the pocket and not getting buried for a 10 yard loss and fumbling rather than the difference between 2.4 ypc and 2.7ypc, just because Connor moves quicker and can get to second level.

Haven't we been passing the ball lately anyway?

Now..... this is somewhat of a post I can get behind.
Passing is undoubtedly much more important than rushing.
And while XSF was nearly twice as likely to give up a pressure or sack on any given snap than Williams last year, XSF looked really good on Sunday in pass pro against a pure run stuffer.

So even while this guy is 100% right we should give the better pass protector the job, I'm going to use the larger sample size anand safely assume that is Williams not XSF.

Williams loses some power struggles, but there’s something to be said for knowledge of assignments, comfort with the center/tackle, and blocking in space and getting the reach blocks.

H-m-m, something tells me Connor Williams could be a bit uneasy, considering how capably Xavier Su'a-Filo competed in his stead.

Normally, it would take longer to return from a knee scope. Cannot say as I blame him. Yet, it might be hard for the staff to take Xavier out.

Lets keep our fingers crossed! Maybe the reason he hasn't been that great was a knee issue that is now on the mend :)

I dont know why they don't give Looney a shot

It is odd. Looney started all of last year. I'd trust him more at G than SuaFilo. His understanding of the oline from the C perspective would be a big plus in his working with Frederick. He's not a road grader, but it's not like he's some little daisy either.

Looney has often just not been given a chance to compete for a starting spot. Same in 2017.

I get the feeling they've just slotted him as the interior backup in their minds, and like having his versatility there so much, they don't want to lose such a fit to that role by starting him. Of course, they'd have to be dumb to think that, because they'd be in the same position, because whether they started Looney or SF last week, they're still in the same position in terms of filling in for injuries. Perhaps I'm unfair to expect such stupidity, but Looney often seems better than the alternatives and just isn't even considered for a start.

I think about that 3rd Down run in Minnesota where The Teflon Con taps the DT on the shoulder and says "good luck buddy" to Frederick as the guy drops Zeke for a 3-yard loss.

I blamed Williams initially too, but notice that Frederick is cursing the play callers, and not Williams. Even after the game, his focus in interviews was on the play call. I'll go with Frederick on this one, and take the failure on that play as an assignment issue built into the play calling and not a failure of Williams to execute his assignment properly.

considering Dak had all the time to throw last game and our run game looked the same as the week before I don't see how Xavier was worse. Keep Williams on the bench.

"Run game with XSF against the 24th ranked rush defense: 75 yards
Run game with William's in the remaining games: 138.2 rushing yards

Almost double"

You really think Frederick is going to call out Williams on the field or in the press? I mean look at where the DT is lined up and tell me he didn't deserve more than a shoulder pad tap from Williams. You actually see Zeke look for the cutback where Frederick was supposed to have had the DT shoved to the side but because there was zero help from Williams, the DT is up field before Frederick can even engage. Even Frederick's body language after the snap shows he was looking for Williams to engage more before he gets there, otherwise he'd have made a bee line straight there to prevent that penetration.

Man, hyperbole on here is awful. "Acting like he is Larry Allen in his prime", no he said they miss William's in the run game since XSF missed assignments left and right.

Run game with XSF against the 24th ranked rush defense: 75 yards
Run game with William's in the remaining games: 138.2 rushing yards

Almost double

We don't expect casual fans to notice difference a at a particular position along the OL. Doesn't mean there wasn't one.

LAST YEAR: Connor Williams started 8 games in which Zeke averaged 85 yards

LAST YEAR: XSF started 8 games in which Zeke averaged 107 yards.

Also, speaking of missed assignments, who missed the block on the 3rd and 2 against the Vikings? Yeah that's right Connor did.

That guy tweeting that must know the family or something, I can see if it were any other of our starting linemen but not Connor. He's kinda like Anthony Brown, they announced that he's out for the season and it didn't change a thing for our outlook because we all feel like Lewis can do at least as good if not a better job than him.

Any numbers that show running to Williams' side versus XSF's side? YPC? Rushing yards alone don't tell the whole story especially since we passed way more than ran in XSF's game.
