Confirmation bias comes into play a lot when people compare Dak and Wentz. Wentz is a first round QB. Second overall pick. Meaning Wentz SHOULD be good. When he struggles it's because of his team. When he wins it's because he's an elite first round QB. Dak is a 4th rounder. He SHOULD"NT be good. He shouldn't be good right out of the gate. When Dak struggles it's because he's a 4th Rounder. When Dak wins it's because he's team is loaded with talent and he was playing againstvJV defenses.

Lol boy there's some Dak haters on here that look foolish this season.

Some of those guys are going to have to pick up new user names and start over. Lol
well if you keep taunting them they have to, sheesh lighten up. For every "dak hater" post I see on this group I see 5 "dak hater hater" posts

This is not a contest right now. I like Wentz as a qb, but he’s not in Dak’s league right now

you're nothing until you get a ring, one has one, the other doesn't.
1-0 Rings.
Marino sucked, he doesn't have a ring.

Now y'all have to revert back to your Superbowl win for conversations that are about what's going on in the current NFL season. Scandrick was correct about one thing and that's the fact that some in Philly are content with your one Superbowl win and aren't hungry for more. So, you keep referring back to it, instead of wanting to get better to try and win another one.

Can only hold on to it for so long, it's meaningless if Wentz can't win one himself. If you have an Eagles team who was happy to win a Superbowl with Foles and yet can't put up the same effort with Wentz as the QB.

We’re 5-5, you’re 6-4. What exactly are you saying? I’m making excuses for how much better your team is?

let me make a counter collage in response. Anyone have a picture of Sam Darnold that doesn’t look like he just got concussed?

So what is your opinion on Gritty?
Talk about being out of whack.... even though I’m a Cowboy fan.... I bleed O&B.

Is that the ridiculous looking mascot? Top 5 alltime. San Diego Chicken, NDSU actual Bison they bring onto the field, and Phoenix Suns Gorilla are contenders

Cowboys are 6-4 which includes a major beat down of the old and injured 5-5 birds. Keep bringing up the Jets. It is not like the Birds did not lose to the Falcons who until very recently were as bad as the Jets.

Yeah according to some of your fellow Eagles fans this Cowboys team is much better than the Eagles team. Since the excuses are for Wentz is that he had a "trash roster" to work with while Dak has a top tier, talented roster to work with and that is the reason for why Dak is playing better than Wentz is right now.

It's not like Wentz lit it up against the Jets either. That was one of the games where he threw for under 200 yards and the Eagles won because Luke Falk was giving the Eagles defense TDs and turnovers.

until major organizational changes are made, Dallas will play down to anyone’s level. You know that’s true, it’s been proven. It’s not easy to say Dallas’s early season win against Philly will have bearing on where the two teams end up.

Close. The entertainment value on this board beats anything I could find anywhere else on the internet. Why troll the Dallas Cowboys when their fans do it better than I ever could?

Take this thread for example: This is the 300th nail in the coffin that you feel Dak is better than anyone gives him credit for. Yet he is only the second sure-fire franchise QB I've ever remembered that has been allowed to go into a lame duck season before he hit 30. The first was Kirk Cousins, and that was because they simply didn't want him. So what is actually going on here? Money? No, that's stupid, Dak isnt asking for 40. That thread is probably imminent, and it'll reach 30 pages, and everyone will be quoting Jerry Jones saying they wanted to get it done last offseason, it'll probably get done by training camp, the deal is imminent 2 months ago, and all the reports that they continue to be at an impasse.

How is this franchise not the greatest soap opera in the history of football? You guys are way more popular when you lose, and you know it.
So, would you still trade up and draft Wentz or drop back and take Dak?

Mike Freeman's 10-Point Stance: Do the Eagles Have a Carson Wentz Problem?

1. The Wentz Paradox

If you took a snapshot of Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz two years ago and compared that picture to the Wentz we see now, the former might well remind you of Drew Brees; the latter, Drew Carey.

We've seen quarterbacks regress before, but Wentz's decline is one of the steepest in recent cases. The issues, of course, aren't all on him. (His receivers likely would drop a pass if it was handed to them from Jesus himself.) But much of Wentz's struggles are because of him.

So what happened?

One NFC coach has a plausible theory, which, if accurate, may present a dilemma for the Eagles in the future.

The coach said he's seen what's happening with Wentz before on other teams. It's part of a thorny cycle that goes like this:

A quarterback has accuracy issues. This causes the receivers to lack trust in the thrower.

But also, as is happening in Philadelphia, receivers drop too many passes, and this causes the quarterback to have a lack of faith in the receivers.

So it all becomes one, big messy feedback loop, a thorny cycle of frustration.

At times this season, Wentz's accuracy has been shockingly bad. Of the top 20 quarterbacks in passing yards through Week 11, his 61.2 completion percentage tops only those of Andy Dalton (60.4), Baker Mayfield (59.2), Jared Goff (60.3) and Jameis Winston (59.6). That's not esteemed company.

Making matters worse, the Eagles receivers are tied for third in drops, per STATS. They are so bad, memes have been generated about them dropping passes. It's also not just that passes are being dropped; it's the timing of those drops, as they've come in huge spots like this one and the latest one. There are others.

If you don't think this dynamic is a problem in the locker room, you're a fool. In fact, some of the consternation has been leaking out for weeks. ESPN's Josina Anderson quoted an anonymous Eagles player in mid-October saying that "we need to make bleep simpler. Sometimes we need to just handle what is manageable. Even Peyton Manning knew when to check it down."

Having inked a four-year, $128 million extension in June, Wentz isn't going anywhere soon. It's likely, though, the Eagles will totally revamp the receiving group after the season.

This is the conundrum in which the Eagles find themselves. An increasingly inaccurate quarterback combined with receivers who consistently drop passes leads to this intersection where there's likely a lack of trust between the two—and an inability to escape the paradox.

It's possible the Eagles turn everything around. We've seen it before with Nick Foles at quarterback. There's a chance.

But something would have to change that hasn't all season.

2. Should Wentz be worried?

We've already discussed this, people. The answer is likely no, the Eagles will not move on from Wentz.

But the situation is becoming more interesting by the week. What if the Eagles don't make the playoffs this season, rework the receivers group this offseason and then Wentz continues to struggle?

(What if I'm Denzel Washington? What if my grandma was an astronaut?)

All hypotheticals, sure, but I guess my point is: What if it's not just the receivers? What if it's mostly Wentz, and the Eagles' pass-catchers are but convenient scapegoats?

(What if there were unicorns?)

Just keep an eye on this scenario. That's all I'm saying.

3. Bargain basement

If you want a good example of how the rookie salary cap absolutely, totally, positively screws players, look no further than this statistic from ESPN.

Four of the best young quarterbacks in the sport are making what in the NFL are minimal wages. Patrick Mahomes ($4.5 million), Deshaun Watson ($3.8 million), Lamar Jackson ($2.2 million) and Dak Prescott ($2.1 million) are all still on their rookie deals.
