This is why I do not watch those shows or pay attention to the lists. There is too much prejudice against us. So it really doesn't matter.

dont get worked over, its not about the lists, or the realism of it, its about an audience and whos hot and which narrative is right, not about truth.

I knew they'd put the 72 Dolphins #1 but the 85 Bears #2? BS

I thought it was a pretty respectful placement

The team that didn’t get enough respect for was the 96 packers

The 96 Packers were completely nuts. MVP QB plus monstrous defense and great special teams.

I'd put the 84 49ers in the top 5 but move the 89 team down a few notches (they weren't nearly as dominant as the 84 team by record or margin of victory) and move the 92 Cowboys up accordingly.

The 2007 Patriots are overrated. Their first 10 games were insane, but their dominance really tapered off after that and then they lost the Super Bowl.

Conversely the 2004 Patriots are underrated. They went 14-2 against a brutal schedule (rare for the Patriots lol), held what at the time was the highest scoring offense IN LEAGUE HISTORY to 3 in the playoffs, then hung over 40 on the #1 defense in the league in the playoffs.

First off, this is all subjective and I would expect some Cowboys fans to be upset that that 92 team, a great team, isn't in that 1st slot. There are so many factors to consider in each era and among them was the competition level in those specific years.

When I think of the greatest team, I consider all 3 aspects so I would not put the 85 Bears at #2, best D ever? Yes, but not the 2nd best team. The balance from O to D and the balance from pass to run has to be considered.

It's hard to argue any of the top 6 to be in that 1st spot but when I think of the competition level and strengths vs weaknesses, I would have to go with that 78 Steelers team at 1, 72 Miami 2, 84 Niners 2, 92 Cowboys 4 and 62 Packers at 5.

The requirements seem to be SB champ but I would put that 77 Cowboys team at 7 behind the 76 Raiders at 6.

I will say one thing, there's no question about the best era of the NFL being the 70's. That was the best decade of pro ball I've ever watched with a lot of good teams. 80's. 90's and 00's, not even close.

The commentators that say that were either not born yet or were playing and getting beat by the 92 cowboys team.

1992 Cowboys were hands down on of thee best teams in NFL history. The NFL had the audacity to rank them #6.

92 Cowboys could destroy all the Pats Mia Steelers GB and 9ers teams.
I really don't give a crap....Salud!

I don’t think you can compare cross generations h2h.

you can only measure their greatness for their time.

I would take today’s Alabama team over the 1960 packers. 6-2” 230lb center Jim Ringo wouldn’t open up any lanes on Raekwon Davis.

The 93 Team was the better of the two.. Once Emmitt came back , they were head a shoulders better than anyone . They destroyed the 49ers in the NFC Championship game...

The 92 Cowboys and 85 Bears dominated other teams to an extreme beyond what other teams on the list accomplished.

I'm referring to how individual games were played.

If the 78 Steelers and 78 Cowboys played each other 10 times, it would likely be about 5 wins for each.

The thing about the Patriots is that they have played in an era that made it way harder to build dominant super-teams. Nobody has strung together more playoff contender seasons than them, but none of their individual seasons had teams as good IMO as the 1996 Packers, 1995/1993/1992 Cowboys or 1994 49ers. I do think the 2003-4 teams would beat the 1997-98 Broncos but that's about it... TD couldn't carry Elway's corpse to the finish line against that defense IMO.

the 96 Packers may have had a MVP QB, #1 defense in the NFL, #1 offense in the NFL, and a kick returner that had ton of TD returns (Desmond Howard).... but guess who beat them? The Cowboys. What was it, 7 field goals?
