They've got the early game and by the time this game kicks off, they'll know the results and whether this game is for the lead or to stay tied for it.

I firmly believe this team needs pressure to perform at it's best and they're probably assuming the Eagles have the easier schedule from here on out, just as we are.

So, which is the stronger motivation, as if one were needed facing the Patriots at home with a 20 game win streak. The chance to move into first or not to fall a game back?

Motivations are funny little things, as I've discovered, but the fear of loss (pain) trumps the desire to win (gain) when the chips are really down. When that extra effort is required, when it's all on the line, I think the fear of falling behind the Eagles is the stronger motivator and if they should beat the Seahawks, I would be all over that if I were a coach. I believe they will fight harder to stay even than to get ahead.

Motivations can be like silly little thing called love.

Make no mistake, if they win this week they finish 10-6 at worst unless they melt down. We need them to lose this week whether we win or lose.

Am I missing something? we are only tied for first if we lose and philly wins, we are already a game up on them and we currently own the tie-breaker since they beat them head-to-head (I know we play them again)...I am thinking more that Seattle beats Philly and Philly falls to 5-6, we ruin the day for billy and tommy and go to 7-4 and thus, a 2-game lead in the division.....philly has the easier schedule down the stretch so this is where we make hay.....no,I will NEVER cheer for the eagles to win and if that is needed by this team, then Garrett should truly be on the bread line

If they Eagles are playing another football team, I want them to lose. If they are playing the Giants or the Commanders, I want them both to lose. If they have a bye week, I want them to lose. If they are drafting in the first round, I want them to trade up for a can't miss QB prospect and lose again. If they hold a summer benefit exhibition game against disabled grannies, I want them to lose. If they buy cereal with a game on the back of the box, I want them to lose.

I want them to lose.

Who said NE doesn't need some fear, you don't think Belichick pushes that button? They're so used to making the playoffs and lack of competition in the division, he has to use motivational tactics. Part of Belichick's fear is the fear of embarrassment in front of the team and he'll use that on anyone.

I've heard many things, from active roster to ex Pats. Not once has anyone stated fear as a component of the atmosphere in NE.

Former players have gone out their way to praise Belichick and Kraft. Your view doesn't comply with reality.

Lol this makes no sense. If both Cowboys and Eagles were to win (or lose) nothing changes.

Can't pull for the Eagles..they're 5-5, if they lose Sunday 5-6. There next two opponents are MIA and NYG before they play the Cowboys. The Cowboys next two after NE are The Bills, and at CHI in December before they play Philly. It literally makes no sense to pull for Philly this weekend.

Colombia Cowboy.
