After news reports that Gregory would file for reinstatement, we've heard pretty much nothing about him. I think at this point we have to assume he is not coming back in 2019. I suppose that would mean any return would be unlikely and Gregory's troubled career is over.

I have searched the web for news and there really isn't any, just some speculation. Gregory was just starting to look like a good player in 2018 when he was suspended again.

I find it hard to believe that Gregory's only problem is he can't stop smoking weed. There has to be more to it. Gregory was suspended for a year in 2017 for smoking weed, the same suspension Myles Garrett got for ripping the helmet off another player and trying to bash his skull in with it? Albert Haynesworth, who was also a troubled player, got two games for stomping on the helmetless head of Andre Gurode. As I recall, that wasn't his first run-in with the rules either.

I am assuming Gregory will never play another down for the Cowboys. But I would love to know what the problem is and why the Cowboys missed it when they drafted him thinking they outsmarted the rest of the league.

Gregory fails a drug test while already on suspension and that is why his was changed to indefinite suspension. Garrett got that right off the bat. I don't agree with Garrett's suspension being indefinite. A 6 game or even just the remainder of this season but not indefinite. If you look Garrett hit the QB with the padding and was little change of any serious injury. Now if Garrett hit him with the crown of the helmet I'd say indefinite, but not for hitting with the padded end.

Randy Gregory is bipolar. There are studies that find marijuana can be effective in treating anxiety and depression. He may very well use it in a recreational way but he may also be using for the medicinal benefits it presents.

I think it's a shame he's kept from making a living and realizing his potential for something so petty as pot. But if he's using marijuana to cope with his condition, I think it's absolutely horrendous of Goodell and the NFL - FREE GREGORY!!!

I doubt he could win a lawsuit like that. No matter the reason, it's against the rules of the contract he signed. I imagine their position would be to simply say he didn't have to play football.

The point of labor law is to supercede contract law. Reasonable accommodation for disabilities. Employers don't get to say "if you don't like it, don't work here".

BS. I've never done drugs, other than alcohol. But, I've had plenty of coaches and players that have had issues with it. You dont quit on them unless you're a holy roller or just a perfect person that would never have a loved one go through those issues.
Not saying to quit on them if they are already on the team or in your family. I just wouldn't get involved with one knowing ahead of time. My father was a heroin addict.

Well it depends.....at some point in the near future I think the NFL will have to rethink how they handle guys smoking weed.

No reason to test for it to begin with. If a player is arrested on drug charges or make its use public, then deal with it.

First, the fact you felt confident typing this out is embarrassing. Second, all the people liking it are worse.

As a hearing impaired person, I look at people with substance abuse illnesses or mental health issues the same as people with disabilities. It's something they have to deal with every day and learn to be good in spite of. If you're not dealing with it, you don't know a ******** thing about it. Judging this people and/or condemning them is an afront to humanity. Your line of thinking isn't just gross, it's dangerous and threatens principles that this country was founded on. It's not your money, it's not your risk. Get over yourself and at the very least root for the dude and the fact that if he can beat his demons, he could be a monster on the field.

What a self-centered, arrogant, self-righteous, and disgusting post.

Let's just root against people with mental illnesses, substance abuse issues, and disabilities. You're a **** person.

Not sure what you're talking about. My post was in reference to drafting a player knowing ahead of time. I would never draft a player knowing ahead of time they have a drug addiction. If you got that from my last post then so be it. But I stand by that.

He has some type of mental disorder (anxiety or depression or bi-polar, etc..).

I watched an episode of the Amazon Original Series "Modern Love" with my girlfriend this week.

It is season 1, episode 3 with Anne Hathaway as a woman that is Bi-Polar.

I thought that it was a great depiction of someone that in many aspects is very normal, except the Bi-Polar condition (unless properly medicated) does not allow her to function as a "normal" person.

Someone in my family has a similar issue; therefore, I've seen how it affects people.

I'm not saying that Gregory is Bi-Polar, just that it is interesting to see a depiction of someone with a mental disorder that is NOT crazy per se.
Yeah, it's different situation for sure. It's really a mood disorder with a variety of fluctuating symptoms.

That's understandable if you're talking about prescription drugs.

It's been reported he has a mental condition (bi-polar?) which he manages with marijuana. It's why the team hasn't given up on him. This isn't a normal lazy player situation. He's got issues
Marijuana actually causes schedzophrenic and bi polar problems itself. Weed is not the answer for this situation. Like Ur brain? Stay off drugs!

I'm no doctor but I watch plenty of pay cable TV.
Gregory has cannabis inhalation disorder, or in the vernacular, he has lots of fun.
