I say pay Cobb top $$$ for one more year AND draft his replacement round 3-5. They're projecting this year's crop WR as one of the best in years. Finding a 2nd round talent in rounds 3-5 shouldn't be that hard.......let him sit behind Cobbs for a year.
I think thats reasonable. He might not even sit. He might get some play as the 4th WR

I say we draft one second round. There were some damn good ones in last year's draft at pick 58.

I personally like a Beez type - a quick get open fast type - especially against a better D like the pats have, they have a very good secondary and not afraid to blitz.

With a Beez type you could have all levels of the field covered...in order from short to long-

Beez type - Jarwin - Coop - Gallup.

We were pretty high on Mecole Hardman during the draft. In fact I think we brought in a few burners that were projected to go day 3 for visits
Hardman would have put the nix on Devin Smith or Cedrick Wilson, and has higher upside than either Cobb and Austin.
Hardman is the type of WR that you have to draft now when you can really exploit , dominate.

I think if you look for a pure slot player, or a WR that can only play outside, then you limit yourself.

I think Cobb is a good template going forward. You want a player that gives you some flexibility to move Cooper and Gallup around. WR's like Cobb, Sterling Shepherd, Tyler Lockett let you do that.

That’s the way the NFL has been moving for a few years.

Get guys that can run routes that are good all around and you don’t need a Dez type monster at the goal line.

I do wonder if Cincey will look to trade Ross again. Guy really broke out but just cant stay healthy. Id be willing to roll the dice with a 4th or 5th

We have now, one Randall Cobb. They should resign him....
But with his injury history, how long do you want to lock him up?

Also he isnt likely to sign for 5 million again. I don't think giving him a short extension should be out of the question, but he could get 10m AAV on the open market

Coopers TD production has really gone up too

I would trade that all day to get a second opinion on a burner like Ross, and he did start showing this season, but falls victim to yet another injury.
Maybe Ross is just shy, and he is forcing his hand without being a jerk...lol ya right.
But it is the Bengals... so the answer is absolutely you try and invest in a talent like Ross, maybe the change in scenery does him good.

Playing him sub packages would also limit his exposure to injury

H-m-m, a great WR complement:

The kind that never drops the ball....

In any event, best of luck finding one?!

If that's even possible, we must clone him!

LMAO these fans all want us to put every backup and every player we cut as starters..

they want
Xavier over Cwil
Pollard over zeke
Jarwin over Witt
Heath out for anyone
crawford out for anyone
cobb out for Smith or wilson
LVE out for thomas or gifford

its ridiculous when you think about it but its what I read here daily..

for sure the internet GM super fans know more then coaches..SMH:facepalm:

I don't see it that way at all, you have a very limited capacity of success in this league if you cant be creative enough to take advantage of the opponents weakness.
Being creative does not mean that you replace Zeke with Pollard, it just means that you start implementing Pollard more in to the game plan.
Zeke can stay in, two back set, motion pollard wide.... this is called a Brain F..... its what good teams do when they have the ability to do so.
Pollard, Jarwin, probably Olawale,, all potential creative options, different looks,, I believe that's what most are seeing.

We brought in a few WR's for visits last year. The two most notable of them were Deebo Samuel and Mecole Hardman.

Interesting contrast in types there. Both can play out of the slot or outside. However in Deebo you have a bigger, physical WR that is built like a HB. Hardeman, you get the pure burner with ridiculous speed

Personally I would prefer Hardeman. What Deebo brings to the table is nice. However Hardemans speed and big play ability make it so defenses have to respect the 3rd best WR on the field more than they should. Cooper and Gallup would feast

These two look like they are going to be a very good pair of starting WR's for a long. Probably top echelon in the NFL.

Looking at the skill sets of both players, what type of WR do you think fits best in subpackages.
One that runs fast, runs good routes and catches the ball...

they've been working this in as much as they can given game day live adjustments..

we have the #1 overall offense and #2 in scoring and rally we simply need to work on getting the run game going for sure and be creative about it the olione has been terrible in run blocking..need better blocking schemes and creative use of alignments to throw off the defense..

its the defense thats the weak point of this team so way too much attention is beig n given to working in role payers on offense.. worry about the D cant stop the run and get gashed in the pass game losing TOP many games..thats key..
