I remember Zimmer being hated way back in the Campo days when Reid and McNabb were stomping this franchise every year... the pickle juice type days. I don't remember that much hate when Parcells was here. Everyone knew it was Parcells' show anyway.

And it's a silly argument to make anyway, because things are completely different when you're the head coach. We've seen a decade of Garrett here and we know how spare he is. We've only seen a few years of Zimmer as a head coach, and yes, he's done better than Garrett considering the talent level of QB they've had. Zimmer got to a championship game with Case Keenum, of all things. If Garrett had Case Keenum it would be an 8-8 year at best.
Probably 4-12.

I wanted Wade gone so bad but Garrett makes me miss Wade. lol
Naw I can't say that lol. I get it. I get why you feel that way but this team just seemed hopeless with Wade. These players at least play for Garrett. I had no problem with the X's and O's when it comes to Wade. I do when it comes to Garrett....ehh I Don't know they both have their faults. I don't want either lol.......

Well let's be honest. Zimmer got a Championship game based on having a STACKED team. He had a great defense. Only problem was the quarterback lol. But the team was so stacked on offense that it didn't even matter who they had at quarterback. As you can see by Kirk Cousins.

People can say what they want but I think Garrett’s next destination will be a successful one. He’s the scapegoat here because of this moronic way things are structure. Fans have no idea who makes what decisions here so they go straight to Garrett since in most organizations the head coach is the one held accountable. I don’t know how good Garrett can be but I do believe his best chance at succeeding is getting the hell away from Jerry.

my thoughts as well, who the hell knows how decisions get made in jeri world and how much jeri's ways add to the difficulty of winning

and I really can't imagine who can come to Dallas and succeed with jeri stank all over everything. Any coach is going to be pigeon holed into a limited role tightly controlled by jeri and spawn; it'll probably be a lot of work for the new guy just to figure out how to navigate & operate within jeri's contorted structure.

Its why I've wondered since his hiring whether Garrett is the best we'll ever see given the circumstances surrounding the HC job because Dallas will never have the "best" coach available as long as jeri is alive and I'd speculate that working around jeri might be one of Garretts best attributes

Having said this, I'm at a point where I'd get a kick out of watching how things unfold if Garrett did go elsewhere as well as seeing the joy of Garretts departure from fans slowly turn to the same aggravation currently expressed but for the new guy who ends up with similar results and a new sets of gaffs that brand him as a horrible coach that must be replaced asap, rinse and repeat in perpetuity.

Lastly, for some reason, I have a feeling that Garrett would never coach anywhere else and would find himself stashed somewhere within the Cowboys org, long after his departure as HC

Exactly. Fans take the "Anyone but Garrett approach...". As if it can't get worse. Oh it can get worse and I Honestly see it getting worse before it gets better. ITs going to take hitting rock bottom for things to change and honestly? It still may not change.

But we've seen it before. Before Garrett it was Wade. Before Wade it was Parcells. Before him it was Campo......am I to believe that these guys who have had success in this league are the problem? Or is the guy the problem who isn't qualified for the position he has?

After reading on the Giants message board their fans don't want him either.
I mean they don't know anything about him. All they know about him is what Cowboy fans say lol. He'd actually be a decent candidate. Much better than what they have. But you know how us fans are. We have a head coaching vacancy and we either want the hot name or the veteran who's had success. No one wants a retread.

And Cowboy fans probably won't agree but Garrett deserves credit for Dak and how he's progressed. This could've been real ugly throwing him out there his rookie year. Ask Jameis Winston or MAriotta.

No, it can't get any worse than Garrett is you actually hire someone with a pulse. Who cares about the past. Go get a guy who can coach.

But you do realize that the same guy who hired Garrett, same one who hired Campo, same guy who hired Wade....it’s all the same guy right? So yeah...it can get worse.

So you think that took no prepping? Mind you....there was a time Dak was behind Romo and Moore.....he was battling Jameil Showers and there were reports that Showers at times looked better than Dak in camp. So I’m not sure if you are saying he was just NFL ready or what but if you are that’s a insult to the work Dak, Wade, Garrett and this staff put in.

If he does leave, this is the spot that makes the most sense for him. And it will be an awesome storyline. I’ll remind everybody again what a terrible coach Mike Zimmer was universally considered to be around here. Until he left and immediately wasn’t.

You will be too busy on giants message boards “reminding” Giants fans that it has only been 5 years and “how can anyone expect a team to be built in only 5 years” meanwhile we will he winning SBs with the new HC and Dak and Zeke

I’ll be pointing it out here, no doubt. Like I do with Zimmer.

On a side note, it’s adorable that you think a coaching change is what it takes to win multiple Superbowls in Dallas right now.

I guess we’d see who’s been right all this time in that scenario. It’d be pretty hard for either side to hide with Garrett in the division and a “better“ coach in Dallas.
