I would think our coaching staff knows much more than myself about football. Can someone explain why in the hell we kicked for a FG to make the game a 4 point deficit? Most stupid call I have seen all year.
Probably because we thought we would get the ball back to score a TD. But I agree with Troy.

I’m less mad about it now. I just wished the Pats didn’t the benefit of everything.

Because it was 4th & 7 in the redzone. The pats have allowed 2 TDs all year in the Redzone at home. If we don't convert we're down by 7 and all the pats need is a FG to end the game. If we kick the FG and they turn it over on downs - we have a chance to win the game (instead of tying it) with a touchdown. We ended up stopping them and had a chance, but the refs did what they've been doing all season...

I don't think it was the wrong choice. We got the ball back with 2:38 left with a chance to win the game. And the refs would have none of it

You wouldn't have preferred a tie or a chance to tie? I much rather know we need a FG than a TD

I would have ran different plays knowing it was 4 down territory. They would not have converted that 4th down with the yards they had to go.

If Pats make a few plays and get a FG we are still in the game, down by 7.
If we stop them we win... not that bad a call, what are the odds we get a first down there?

There's a lot of time left and if you score a TD you win it.

My opinion is that that particular kick was the right call, but we should have gone for it on few of the longer field goals we attempted earlier.

1. Low probability of converting 4th &7
2. Kicking FG allows room for defense to give up a FG to the Patriots and still keeping it a one possession game.
3. If defense gets a stop, gives offense opportunity to win the game instead of tying and going to OT.

I can understand wanting to go for it there, but it isn’t a clear cut decision. I agreed with the call to kick a FG personally and I hate Garrett.

It was the only decision. Troy was pushing for it as though the Patriots had been marching up and down the field all game. Thought his adamant stance about it was weird.

Look at how the game turned out. The Cowboys got the ball back with a chance to win the game. They were driving from the 8 yards line and completed a big 3rd down pass to the 40 yard line. If not for the very iffy tripping call, the Cowboys had a 1st down at the 40 with 1:40 let to play and 3 time outs. We don;t know what would have happened there but they had a chance to win it. It was in their hands. 4th and 7 against this defense in this weather was a high risk call.
