Not slamming Dak, but passing yards is the least useful way to evaluate a QB.

I mean, freaking Jamis Winston is number 2 in the league behind Dak in total passing yards...……..anybody think Winston is any good?

no, Winston is incredibly erratic. Can throw for 400 yards but way, way too many turnovers. a good example is Lamar Jackson. He is showing great promise without putting up record numbers. Hes reading an reacting to defenses as good as anybody and taking what the defenses are giving him

After taking time to consider all options I'd say the favorite is probably Bill Callahan.

Gets the OL right. He's a guru.

What's it going to be then, eh?

When everyone wants Lincoln Riley or Urban Meyer, they might take Chris Pedersen as a second option and then they will just have to sit back and take a Jeff Fisher or Jack Del Rio.

You know this is what is going to happen.

I remember when he was with the Niners and made a QB who couldn’t throw the football into a QB. He also made Tyrod into a player. Now he has what looks like the MVP. Jackson however is a talented dude as we saw all of this in college.

I’ve been on the train of experience and winning mentality for our next HC, but Roman is intriguing.

I don't know if he's been mentioned in this thread.. but I really want Mike Pettine. He is a 3-4 guy at his core, but also has experience being a multiple defense guy, as he uses the nickel defense as his base. He takes advantage of what his players do and works to their advantage, as he did when he was the D-coordinator with the Bills. He had a rough couple of years as the Browns coach, but has fielded elite defenses before. I want a guy that doesn't come with his "scheme" and is able to gameplan around the players.

Does he have the spine and street cred to back Jerry down like Jimmy did?

if he does, then it's an intriguing option....

My preference is a defensive HC, but wouldn't be opposed to Roman, that way our OC doesn't get poached. I'm all for only giving the new HC only 3-4 years, no more 5+ prove it years. All SuperBowl winning coaches win early.. it's ridiculous we have been holding on to Garrett for nothing. He's good for "culture", but we need a spark ASAP. Sort of like Any Reid in philly.. but atleast he got to the SuperBowl once.

Roman is quickly moving up near the top of my list. The fact he’s done it in other places with other QB’s tells me he’s legit. My preference has been a guy who has been a head coach at least at the P5 level but Roman from what I’ve read sounds very intriguing and is a guy who is likely to be a head coach somewhere in the NFL next season.

Roman would be an awful hiring for this team.

He's a good guy to have if you have a running QB and no WRs. The Cowboys are the exact opposite of that.

Was looking at his bio yesterday. 47, New Jersey guy, has served under both Harbaughs so I know he likes to have physical teams. Obviously has been innovative with Jackson. Also had success with Kap.

I checked out his bio as well and he looks like Freddie Kitchens! Lol

I am intrigued as well, as he called a perfect game last night. He also beat the brakes off the Pats.

Hope the Giants don't get him. He would be a great fit with Daniel Jones and Barkley

He may be the next Paul Brown, but I am just scared of a guy without HC experience. Garrett has made me wary of on the job training for coaches...Can't waste more years with these guys. Also I think Dak, is not the same kind of runner as Kap or Jackson and would not be as effective in that system. IMO

I’m scared as well. But as far as NFL coaches go he’s up there. Unfortunately, Mike Holmgren is so old as he would be at the top of my list of HC’s with experience. I’ve had my short list of Urban, Lincoln, and Dabo, but if we go the NFL route he’s intriguing.
