I'm not sure how I found this place, but I think I was here from the start. Started as Rocketman, referring to Rocket Ismail. When they switched from the old site I had to change to my name and chose Mr Cowboy. If I remember correctly. Dale and Hostile were the first administrators of the site. I remember going to training camp practices when they trained in San Antonio, and rushing here to post my reports and pictures.

I still see many of the old timers at another site.

Good times.

With that being said, can some of you old timers give this old timer some history of CZ. Maybe include a few HOF zoners, or worst of all time guys. Longest thread ever, Most discussed ever, most controversial ever that was allowed to stay a while?

What was the best time to be a member? How about worst? I don’t believe the internet was around the last time the Boys one anything worth talking about , so in this thread “moral victory’s and accomplishments” will be fine...

Finally, let’s pay tribute to some of our buddies who have passed on but had good times here..CBZ40 is where the list beings today.

Been here since 2004. Don't post much and the majority of my posts were before the "like" button was available. I do consider myself likeable even before the like button came into play.

I come here minimum every day, most days once an hour or so. You all are great for up to date news and all of that. If it hits Twitter it is usually here five seconds later. Love it.

Alot of older posters have stopped posting and thats a shame.

I think when DC.com shut down their forums this place got the bulk of the people responsible for it being shut down. Trolling any threads, posts, and posters with any kind of positivity about the team. Me personally i think this place has taken a big hit in content when these people who are doing this came to this forum.

The actual need to have a area designated for basically trolling says alot about the reason some of these people are here.

Are you talking about the old Cowboys message board, character based? With slaneman, Swami, and Mike Wilson? That was the early 1990s I think. We used to have some pretty funny arguments with Packers fans. Anyone remember this?

I go way back to the beginning. So many memories coming back with the names being mentioned.
I remember the GROZ (Get Rid of Zimmer) movement. I remember reading interesting discussions with RobPettisDad (the guy was actually the dad of the offensive lineman Rob Pettiti). He provided good information for awhile but I'm sure grew weary of people ripping on his son.
Of course I have to mention Good Morning, Pops. RIP.

FOR ME..Cowboyron,Coogs and about 4-5 guys I can recall from the other message board.. Like I said, I was on there in around 2002-03 til they disbanded the board.

Howdy

I used to frequent the Ranch but that place went down hill long before Fish ruined it even more. Some of my very first Cowboy memories were floaty and his troll trade ideas 15 years ago. I think on scout my name was wastedfluid(sheesh, I was young)... i've always had a Jason Witten avatar until I found a new passion in hating Jason Garrett.

No, I was never on that board. I was on the board whose name must never be spoken or Reality gets sued.

I had an account on this board when Dale first set it up but didn't use it except to read occasionally. Then it got deleted or something so I set up this account a couple of years ago.

I was around on the old site 2002 or 2003 and sometime in 2004 a link popped up saying site was moving to cowboyszone.com and been here ever since. im here at least 10x a day... i did a fast a few weeks ago from CZ just to see how much my screen time would drop and it went from 10 hours of phone time to 4 hours... so im apparently addicted to this site.

LOL, I only asked because Deebs used to have a Cartman avatar and had a similar posting style to you. There are some FWST castoffs here like myself and a few others. I think KJJ was on FWST, CowboyRoy. That forum was crazy. LOL
