All you really need to know here is Jerry's comments in the beginning of the Garrett era as far as how he had to learn on the job, etc.

Learn what? Clock management? When to go on 4th down? Things of this nature??

FANS know this stuff.

Funny thing is the guy still doesnt have this stuff down in year 11.

Jerry always talked about Garrett being so smart. Well Jerry, that's only because you're so dumb.

Here is my issue snd I’ll try to spell it out clear because it’s confusing and I need a therapist

1) Been a fan since 75
2) Usual response to losses in my lifetime included flipping a TV tray(the Catch), crying and disappointment that ruined weeks
3) Even with guys like Campo my faith never diminished because when you just lose and have Quincy hope is strong
4) Then comes this era...we are good but not good enough. Teams tank or soar but we are decent. You’re never sure what’s next. Could look like SB. Could look like trash. BUT never too high or low. So there is an apathy: That’s the issue

I love my Boys. Have for 45 yrs. I’ve traveled to playoff games and left sad...Minny vs Favre and last years Rams. So my complaints here aren’t out of negativity.

So my answer is Garrett is the only coach to straight out frustrate me a make me more apathetic because the ceiling is so meh. There is no true high or low. It’s weird. I always expected a big move or a new direction but now I feel like there is no out

It's not just coaching although Garrett should've never been hired. Really tells you alot about the decision making here, but it's most certainly an owner and front office that shows absolutely no sense of urgency at all. Just wasting one roster after the next. Jerry has singlehandedly killed Cowboys football.

I find myself caring less and less. And hate that I do.

with the pats game, i just lounged on the sofa. when they did not adjust for the weather on the special teams, i just wonder what was going on. but it was more 'good grief' instead of ***. when they went for 3 late in the 4th, it was more like 'this seems like a real bad idea' instead of screaming at the tv. not much emotion in the coaching staff. players had a bit more but seemed like they were more going through the motions.

At this point in time, I manage to console myself against a possible loss, well before the actual game begins. I do so, hoping that a loss might create an impetus for some long-needed structural changes by the Cowboys' FO. I'll always pull for them to win during games, although, there's still that hope for changes to instill encouragement for better things to come with a loss. Such a scenario constitutes a strangely ironic development, for sure!

I have gone from being excited for every game to having a feeling like 2015 when Romo went down. This season has felt the exact same

I was a fan through the Barry Switzer and Dave Campo eras. This is nothing in comparison. Anybody who suffered through the 1997 or 2002 seasons knows what truly awful coaching looks like.

JG on the sidelines makes me feel like when Maher is attempting a 30 yard field goal. I know it should be a chip shot but he brings a degree of difficulty/uncertainty to all his attempts that I didn't have when Dan Bailey was in his prime.

Your rabidly defensive behavior of any criticism of the Cowboys suggests it is far more important to you than that.
No I just out the habitual haters like yourself. There’s plenty to criticize about the Cowboys. Posters like you are having a banner year as yall live for the negative.

I love watching the Cowboys even with the PLAYERS incompetence, my enthusiasm has never wavered one bit for more than 50yrs of watching them good or bad. I love the Cowboys, I love the game of football. So if Garrett stays I am ok with that, if he goes I am ok with that too. He is a good coach, in an organization that has an owner/GM that wants all the credit he has made the best of it. So no I will defend my boys any day all day everyday and I will admit to their faults, never Willie hear me bashing them I like watching them win , lose or draw.

I don't know if it's because I'm just growing older with more responsibilities, or if I'm just becoming numb to the ineptness of Garrett and the coaches. But my interest level has been decreasing slowly over the years.

I used to never be able to miss a play. Week-ends would revolve around those 3 hours on a Sunday. Not the case anymore.

Doesn't really affect me because there is really very little of what I consider really good coaching. Did you watch the wunderkind McVay last night? How about Nagy this year? Both CotY the last 3 years.

But about that game Sunday. Does anyone really think Garrett is going to out coach Belichick in Gillette in that weather? He faced better than that in those types of conditions before and ended up in the SB. As far as that punt return, don't know how many coaches would have responded to that from the mad scientist. A coach has to be concerned with what Belichick's up to and what he's trying to do.

The coach that blew that game was the one that didn't call QB run plays in those conditions. The QB can't pass the ball accurately, why keep calling that? They were keying on Elliott so run Prescott or Pollard out of 2 back sets. What does Belichick struggle with the most? A mobile QB.

Yep called this early last week said Dak needed to have about 6 called runs and this was before I knew about the weather

It lowered my enjoyment long ago and I adjusted my expectations accordingly but on occasion we reach new lows that get under my skin like this week against the Pats . That said the officiating has totally ruined the game for me at this point I dont watch other games very often .
After every exciting play there is a flag that drains the excitement from the moment and the wait for the ruling . All the new rules that have made it difficult for players to do their jobs at game speed . It has really become an unwatchable spit show at times .

The bogas penalties that get called on our team to manipulate games give me a feeling that in this era Tom Landry couldnt get us to a SB . Somebody hates Jerry with a passion and they dont make any bones about it or cover it up well . Sunday was a prime example especially when the league pours salt in the wound and admits the calls were bad .

Sad for our young players that dont realize they have no chance to attain a SB with this franchise and are wasting there careers being poorly coached and suffering All Star Wrestling out comes from a league that markets itself as ENTERTAINMENT not sport

why did our kicker keep banging it out of the end zone? It would have been nice to see if the Pats might muff one of those. Maybe get good field position.
lol I thought the same thing rewatching the game.
It is just another example of poor coaching by JG.

After GB....not as much hopeful or enthused. I knew ..I think everyone knew, but we are the accident victims standing up straight saying “I’m good...we can fix this bro..” while eyes pointed opposite each other and the car is upside down. Still enjoy football, just bummed a little seeing a repeat of years past. The soap opera level though is getting intriqueing in the 3rd act...so there’s that.

Because Dallas didn’t prepare for weather. Simple as that, and stupid as that. Cowboys Break pointed all that out,I can’t believe the morons didn’t practice for weather going to NE. Ok...well,I’ve seen enough prior to fire, but that nails it shut for me.
