I think Woodson would have gotten in the HOF if Deion didnt come to the team.

Before Deion, Woodson was talked about but years after Woodson's retirement the only players the public and media outside of the city and ESPN bring up on the defense is Deion and Haley.

Congratulations to Woodson and props to the Board of Selectors to giving him a fourth opportunity to become a finalist. However, the thought of the NFL ceremoniously expanding the centennial class to 20 inductees and only seeing one deserving Cowboy reach the semi-finals is vomiting inducing. And please. Mentioning Zach Thomas in the article is admirable but he played the final season of his 13-year career in Dallas. He deserves getting into the Hall for his tenure with the Dolphins but his strings to this franchise are tiny at best.

There are still worthy Cowboys on the outside of the Hall looking in. And the continued number one exclusion (in my opinion) of Chuck Howley is almost criminal.

As much as he is deserving of being in the Hall of Fame, Woodson will not get in. The main reason will be that the same voters making this decision left him off of the 90's All Decade team, which was a glaring omission. They named Ronnie Lott to that team, and Lott was washed up during his years with the Raiders and Jets, and he was out of football by the middle of the decade.

Woodson is a guy who would fit in any decade of NFL play - hitting/tackling ability of a linebacker, range of a safety and ability to cover out of the slot. While his stats won't blow anyone out of the water, it was his ability to fill multiple roles at a very high level that allowed the Cowboy defense to be good to great during his time in Dallas.

Dang right. I think Woodson is long over due. Woody is my all time favorite safety for the Cowboys. The man could play FS, FS, CB, slot CB and all three LBs postions. The man was a stud every time he stepped onto the field.

Vote for Woodson.
Howley should be in before Woody.

It would not surprise me if Woodson is not named a finalist. I did not think he would get in as a first-ballot but to string him out to a fourth try is very telling.

Jimmy's downfall will be that he was a short timer.

Won 2 Super Bowls and 80% of his roster won a 3rd one.

Turned NFL draft on its head.

Took dumpster fire of a franchise and dominated the 90s.

No way Jerry Jones should be in there and Jimmy should not.

Exactly why he should be in. Look at what he accomplished in such a small stride.

Vote for Woodson.

Playing all those different positions, he won't look the best compared to the best at each position. But his flexibility to fill any matchup gap on the back end was a huge asset to the team, generally underappreciated.

Agreed.
Just 10 years in the NFL, may not be the longevity that Hall of Famer voters consider in a NFL head coach
.
But there's no question that Jimmy Johnson should definitely be in the Ring of Honor, ...at the very least.
But that's completely on Jerry and his own bias.

That's not how the Hall of Fame looks at things though. They typically honor careers, and like to see sustained excellence. By the standard you are talking about Zeke could have retired after 3 years and claimed that rushing titles in 67% of his career makes him a Hall of Fame candidate.
