I wonder if Jerry would put up with this level of incompetence from a manager running any of his other businesses.
he has openly stated he would not. then he follows that up with his bs nonsense that he can't fire himself. but he could step down since it's his team. not sure if he's trying to be cute or stupid when he says that.

this was the exact statement with Wade, Campo, Switzer and on and on and on...he always says that...

next move is to generate hope. he knows he has milked all his cows , made all his moves with garrett and the fan base is unhappy. next move is to hire another big name coach (this time since garrett was a no name coach), then generate hope. fanzone will be devided, some loving the hire, others criticizing, we will go through another 3, 4 years of mediocrity, Jerry will say the buck stops with me and then the next hire......

until Jerry-meddling stops, such is life as a cowboys fan

In that case; Mr. Jones, call yourself in, and hand yourself a pink slip.

Booger, now listen to me Booger and listen carefully. You do not have to say anything. Your defense is as GM? What other GM has called any of his coaches out to the media? That's no excuse.

To make this worse, you're calling your guys out as comparison to the greatest coach of his generation? There's a very good reason he has the record he has and he's outsmarted better HC's than you employ.

It's all BS damage control now and no one cares and the buck doesn't stop with you Booger, it starts with you and that's the real problem.

What I really want to know is with all the gaffes Garrett has made on the sideline, why now? Could it be that it's Kraft and his team owns America's Team?

Dang it Jerry Jones. You were quoted A lot. :laugh:I am not translating all that into a post right now :muttley:but anyone should be able to discern Garrett's job is safe through the end of next month--if any readers have the internal patience to grasp what he said. The division is still there to be won and Jones will not be giving Garrett the pick slip he could have handed out years ago (*cough* 2015 *cough*) when the NFC East championship remains undecided in the here-and-now. The article and this thread would be a good bookmark to refer back when the numerous "Fire Jason now!!!!more exclamation marks are good!!!" posts and threads appear during that span.

Pretty obvious he's reminding the coaching staff their ziies are on the line the rest of the season. Having said that, he could have fixed this last year by simply hiring a new coach and letting him choose his own staff on both sides of the ball and either he or Stephen was too cheap.

I guess it's also possible they didn't see any potential replacements out there they liked but that's not an issue now.

Sidenote: Many fans forget, Jerry is very sensitive to outside criticism, especially when it reaches national levels. I can now def see him going after a big-time replacement for Garrett. A guy who knows what it takes to win big AND consistently.

Two names I'm putting the hat are Mike Tomlin ( if Pitts will let him go) or Urban Meyers.

“The same way that I felt then,” Jones said on 105.3 The Fan. “When you’re general manager which I am, those coaches are out there at my ultimate decision. And so just as I should and do expect our fans to when asked in a situation like that questions regarding how we perform. It’s very much within my realm or purview, if you will, to basically not only be standing there as an owner but be standing there as the general manager that put the staff together to begin with.

not only is belichick the goat as a coach, he's also the ad hoc gm of the patriots. so he trumps jerry, too.

Heard it before.

Fake accountability.

If a GM screws up a draft pick or a contract, they are fired after the season.

If (when unfortunately) "GM Jerra" screws up a draft pick (cough, cough Trysten Hill) or a contract (puke, puke overpays Tyrone Crawford), he still goes yachting once the season is over. Meanwhile, the team is pure garbage at Defensive Tackle and guess who gets to try to fix that? The same yahoo who screwed it up in the first place.
It is time for him to look in the mirror again.

We hear this literally after every failure.

Nothing will change until well, he is no longer among the living. And then Stephen Jones will say the same things. Way he was raised.

He does this all the time. Whenever things look bleakest he breaks out the old man in the mirror speech before resuming to do the same exact thing he's always done because he will always be more important than the team.

This is our version of accountability.
You take flak on this site (I am responsible for some to be honest) but the bold is 100% true. And the reason for it is more than simple inflated ego.

Jones' sense of accountability is not the same as others. It is extremely likely he judges his own sense of accountability as more relevant than others despite his words and actions in the past. It is a point-of-view everyone does not perceive for themselves because Jones is often seen as just some super rich, greed, egotistic individual--who would be just like anyone else minus his wealth.

He is not though, which is why the entire picture of Jones is never understood. Then again, enough of Jones' picture has been made crystal clear over the past three decades. So it all evens out lol.

Jerry has no greater qualifications to act as a GM than many of us here!

He'll always see himself as being far more entitled to it than he deserves.

Nevertheless, he's in the position of power as owner to do as he pleases.

That is something that may forever put his team vs. odds to find success.

I was referring to Mike Brown, but the Bengals fit this equation as well.

I guess we are better off than the Brown family over there in Cincinnati. Talk about a weird organization. They don't really pay anyone. They let Andy Dalton take (I'm sorry--Steal) their money all of these years. Kept Marvin Lewis too long, but unlike Jerry, their FO made it crystal clear that Lewis needed to go because he never won a playoff game.

Been that way every since he fired Jimmy.
Managed to win one SB with the team Jimmy built. Since then, nada.
The problem is Jerrah and the "buck" ending up in his wallet. That is his only concern.
