But he's talking to his teammates, rather than the media.Bennett has fit right in, talk a good game.
Y’all think Jerrys comment about “redemption” after is related to this speech by Bennett? If so then MB was addressing the whole group, not just players but the coaches, players, and Jerry. I think this might be why he was ready eyed when talking to the players.
Jerry knows he’s the root cause of this stooper this team has been in with Garrett. It really is super bowl or bust this year for him.
TESTIFY, MICHAEL. TESTIFY.This highlighted passage hits the nail right on the head, even if he’s not on the team next year I think he’s respectfully illuminated some of the issues we’ve all felt existed.

“We’ve got all the great players. The only thing we’ve got to do is execute in adversity. The enemy against greatness is the unwillingness to change. We’ve got to be able to change some of the things that we’ve been doing to demand more from ourselves and become the people we want to be.
peer pressure gets the point across quicker than criticism from any other sources. it gets in your face and lets the cat out of the bag.But he's talking to his teammates, rather than the media.
IIRC, Switzer was the one who didn't care enough to discipline the players, and that's why Troy hated playing for him. Troy said he was a different coach when he was in college. It got to the point that Troy was the one yelling at guys, and he hated being the bad guy.You don't lose for 25 years based on the talent of 1 team or 1 coach. You lose for 25 years because something is systemically wrong. I remember way back when Barry Switzer was the coach and the team started to fade, there were rumors that Switzer was unable to discipline players for mistakes because Jerry Jones would intervene. Jerry had certain players who were his "pals" that were untouchable. I am not talking about off the field mistakes.
There is no discipline on this team because the team does not demand discipline. No one gets after player for making mistakes. Winning teams do not shoot themselves in the foot constantly like Dallas does. And again, this is not something new to this team. Its been a problem for multiple coaches and lots of players since Jimmy Johnson left.
Get over it already. Whatever you had against him is a you problem. If he did something wrong and people evolve. Are you the same person today that you were 5 or ten years ago? When one of the Bennett brothers is the leader in the locker room after 4 games, then you know you have real problems.
Some of us on this site try to educate the overzealous types all offseason and even into training camp. Most don't listen. Then throw a fit when reality hits.
I have tried to clue some into the apparent demise of Zeke well before this season started. They get mad and call me bad names. LOL
This defense did absolutely NOTHING in the offseason to improve other than draft a 2nd round DT. Why would ANYONE expect different results?
There were a ton is holdouts, injuries and surgeries resulting in guys missing TC. The theme from many people was "they will all be fine". Tried to tell them it doesn't work like that. Deaf ears.
Talent isn’t the issue. It’s the effort. They just can’t take or keep momentum. While we tend to overrate our players sometimes, the opposite often happens as well. When we’re not playing well, all of a sudden the team has poor talent. There is plenty of talent on this team.

It means that he doesn't deserve much respect.Doesn’t mean what he said was wrong.
Eh, who the Hell is this guy to come in and act like he's anyone to the Cowboys.
Just got cut by the Patriots. That tells me all I need to know. He's really never stuck anywhere. He's the one that probably needs to change; and part of the problem.
Possibly most emotion since Charles Haley went off years agoMost emotion I've heard out of a Cowboys player in years

I was hoping someone outside the cess pool of crap that is Country Club Cowboys would say something. I was hoping it would be bennett or quinn. Someone not steeped in the "process" that wouldn't be afraid to speak their minds. much like Charles Hayley did with JER to get smith back on the field. Bennett has a superbowl ring. He's an UDFA that's played for some good coaches and just came from the land of brady and bilechek. I glad he said something and didn't go pout on the sideline or stage some ridiculous protest. He's right. You can be sam Bradford and be remembered for poor play and not living up to contract numbers or Nick Foles because he saved the Eagles season and won a superbowl.Eh, who the Hell is this guy to come in and act like he's anyone to the Cowboys.

Who said anything about respect? Some of you guys don't even respect your own mother let alone a football player. That's not my point. Point is what Dez said was right and no one wanted to hear it from the messenger. It means that he doesn't deserve much respect.
I don't know what's gotten into you but lately it seems you have certain trigger points when it comes to talking about Kapernick or Bennett. What is that about? Are you going to cry?
We’ve also had a lot of close games where these supposedly “great” players lost it single handily. Zeke’s fumble in NO for example. Sure, there were other factors that led to the lost but the point is these “great” players have been put in positions to win and they didn’t. Great players don’t do that, great players deliver and all too often the “great” players on this team haven’t.Sure, but that's not the point. All players get beat. But we have played a lot of close games this year where coaching would have made all the difference. Things happen too slowly around here and it creates a lag. Better schemes, better adjustments a coach that keeps the players tendencies in check. Its actually keeping the players mentally challenged and motivated each and every week in different ways. Keeping their attention and making them realize they have not arrived. And once they think they have, is when the problems start.
Garrett is horrid in this regard. They all get cocky. And at some point, when they need uplifiting, he isnt there either. Look, its Bennet doing it. Jerry Jones is crying in the lockeroom. There is a serious void at the HC position.
But I agree that a player like Byron Jones isn't all of a sudden going to become a ball hawking corner with another coach.
Yeah, part of that is coaching so this isn’t an excuse for Garrett but it’s sad when a grown man making millions to play a game can’t put forth 110% effort every play, I’ll never understand that. Every sport I’ve ever played I wanted to kill the person across from me, I didn’t need a coach or anyone else to fire me up. The competitiveness and personal drive was all I needed. It’s effort. They have no effort. A few do and then the ones that don’t drag the team down. And JJ and JG allows it.
I kept watching Elliot coming through the holes and falling over, he used to explode through and was to the second level.
