I made a reference to this in someone else's post but I thought some of you may be able to relate. I remember back in the 90's rushing to the 7-11 when The Dallas Cowboys Weekly came out and I would go to my favorite sandwich shop called Cuco's in North Richland Hills and read it cover to cover while I had my food.

Man, I was loving life back then when it came to our Cowboys! Just savoring every page. Jerry should be ashamed how he has run things into the ground because of his EGO and Pride...

Living in NJ I had to have it mailed to my home. It would show up at my home by mail every Thursday before that week's game - except when the Cowboys were about to play the Giants. Then it would arrive in my mailbox the week after the game. I swear my mailman was taking it and reading it! btw, I save all of them so I have every Cowboys weekly paper since before they drafted Aikman. I am trying to decide what to do with this stack of yellowing Cowboys newspapers taking up too much space in my basement.

Absolutely remember those days. Was a long time subscriber. When I was in Desert Storm back then, I looked so forward to getting the Weekly, but it never showed up. When I finally got back home and was able to ask them what happened to my subscription, the could only apologize and tell me my renewal got lost. That was a huge morale buster for me. Nowadays, the team itself is a huge morale buster...

Yep, I have a buttload of copies somewhere, too.

Was a subscriber in the 80s and 90s. Living in Ohio in the pre-internet days it was my primary source of Cowboys news.
Do you remember how much different times were back then? So much simpler, and without access to constant information and speculation there was so much joy in the little things...

I honestly believe at one point Jerry was doing a great job staying out of things and letting coaches coach, but obviously after Jimmy the wheels came completely off and we've never been
the same.. I've said this before and I'll say it again, I think Jerry's pride has been one of the biggest factors in our team falling off the map, and to me this is a horrible character flaw.
I would be willing to bet that the whole team is instructed to not read the press clippings and to surround themselves with only yes men. It's obvious that this is what Jerry does, just look
at the broadus situation..

Either way, I miss the good old days for sure, and at least have the memories..

NO!!!!, Absolutely hated when the Cowboys Weekly came out every week. I worked at the printing company that printed the damn things and they would send people in to critique every single aspect of the printing and handling of it.
Major pain in the backside to deal with those people.

My father was a subscriber. I started reading it in the late 70’s and early 80’s when I was a little kid. The oldest vivid memory I had was when we drafted Jeffcoat, man time flies...

But the joy and enlightenment that you brought to so many fellow Cowboy brethren had to give you some solace.

Let me personally thank you for all your hard work and dedication to providing me with some great content in the pre-internet era.

My Mom and Dad bought me a subscription to that every year for Christmas.

Living up in Michigan and before Sunday Ticket, etc, that was a huge part of maintaining my fanhood, especially during the dark years in the mid to late 80's.

I cherished that publication.

I’m in the DC area, and while we didn’t have that, I remember the annual magazines publishing their predictions for the season with a team by team breakdown, including the draft picks. My brother and I would run to the shelf and turn straight to the pages on the Cowboys with excitement.

I don’t know if it was just bring young or what, but I think part of that era is we weren’t inundated with information all the time, so when football season was over, it was over. So we savored everything then.

Prior to the Internet I lived for the Dallas Cowboys Weekly. I subscribed to the paper in the summer of 1989. Jerry taking over the Cowboys and bringing in Jimmy had me stoked! My very first issue of Dallas Cowboys Weekly is the one I have attached from August 19, 1989. Still have a big pile of them stored away in my closet. My eyes lit up like a kid in a candy store every time I saw one in my mailbox. Living in California it was the only way I could keep up with the Cowboys. Once the Internet took off and fan boards like this came along I discontinued my subscription. It’s become so easy finding news on the Cowboys these days online that the Dallas Cowboys Weekly eventually lost its luster.

Love the photo you posted KJJ.. If you are too young to be around during those times they were indeed magical and amazing. We were on top of the world and had an amazing run! I watched Dorsett and Staubach as well but I was only like 7 or 8 years old but that is where it all began for me... It's really too bad that Jones can't find a way to just be an owner and let others handle football operations.

I wasn’t too young. The very first Cowboys game I watched was Super Bowl VI. I started following the Cowboys during the 1972 season. I grew up in Texas so never even thought about the Dallas Cowboys Weekly. When I moved to California in the mid-1980s the team was on the decline. When Jerry bought the team and hired Jimmy in 89 that invigorated me. Practically all the news I got on the Cowboys was at newsstands going through football publications. Just happened to stumble across an ad for the Dallas Cowboys Weekly in a football publication during the summer of 89 and subscribed.
