Prior to the season everyone (fans, media, coaches) kept telling them how great and talented they all were. Some were even paid like they are top tier players. So they got complacent, lazy, and smelt their own stink so much that they thought they didn't have to put in the hard work mon-fri that is required to win tough games in the nfl. Both the coaches and players are to blame for this.
