Remember how excited you got when a new Dallas Cowboys Weekly came out back in the day

When I was young I remember getting excited when I would see the mail truck on the street.

Before the internet, the Cowboys Weekly was the only way to get news on the team up here. You had to wait at least five days after every game for a complete recap, but it was worth it. And yes, I too would read it cover to cover.

Now I'm older and everything I want to know about the Cowboys is a click away. I kind of miss the old days; but times change.

I made a reference to this in someone else's post but I thought some of you may be able to relate. I remember back in the 90's rushing to the 7-11 when The Dallas Cowboys Weekly came out and I would go to my favorite sandwich shop called Cuco's in North Richland Hills and read it cover to cover while I had my food.

Man, I was loving life back then when it came to our Cowboys! Just savoring every page. Jerry should be ashamed how he has run things into the ground because of his EGO and Pride...
I remember, I was 17, and going to work in the morning and I would stop every day at this gas station to pick up 5 newspapers just for their Sports sections about the Cowboys and Spurs.
The girl who worked the cash register had gone to school with me. Because of my daily habit/obsession, she thought I was doing it to gain the courage to ask her out, lol.

What did she say once you married her?

I loved those. Wish they still did something. Even if it was a digit edition.

But I always thought one day, I will get to go to Texas Stadium and see the Cowboys play in a real game. Would something like that ever be possible for me?

And I finally did get to do that much later in life. I remember my first game there back in 2004 after a lifetime of trying to get there. Or hoping someday I would be able too. I almost passed out. I thought, is this real? It was like a miracle.

Now Texas Stadium is gone. And so are the glory days. I'm sad to see them go. But everything changes. Maybe the Cowboys will be great again one day.

I hope so.
Oh I'm def feelin you on this.
When I heard they they were going to take down Texas Stadium - I had to go - went in 2006 - took the tour the whole 9.

I'll never forget the site of the stadium when I came out of the dark tunnel and looked down onto the field...

I thought it was a HUGE mistake to tear it down - The "hole in the roof" was iconic, it was like The Green Monster in Boston, the white facade of Yankee Stadium, the brick and ivy of Wrigleys field, they should have just refurbished it.

Its like an opposing player once said - "Going to Texas Stadium ware so many of the greats played was intimidating - it was an historic place, but going to Jerry World, its like going to Vegas"

Living in NJ I had to have it mailed to my home. It would show up at my home by mail every Thursday before that week's game - except when the Cowboys were about to play the Giants. Then it would arrive in my mailbox the week after the game. I swear my mailman was taking it and reading it! btw, I save all of them so I have every Cowboys weekly paper since before they drafted Aikman. I am trying to decide what to do with this stack of yellowing Cowboys newspapers taking up too much space in my basement.

I have 10 years worth or so, put away in a rubber maid container. They have not yellowed.
I had the same problem for a while. I lived in Jupiter FL at the time and they would always be a week late. I made a complaint to the post office. I thought they were reading them. As I told them the DCW office said when they were mailed and when I should receive them. They started coming on time after that.

My issues are from when Jerry bought the team until around 2000. But then I had moved to DFW in 1998.

I also have unopened copies of the DMN and FWST after the SB 27 win packed a way with them, that my father in law had bought and saved for me.

Trying to decide what to do with them also. Maybe sell them to a collector. As they are taking up space in my closet along with a lot of other Cowboys items. I will probably never put all my stuff out, so may sell a lot of it. Autographed mini helmets, lamps, phones, all kinds of stuff.

Unopened programs from the last game at Texas stadium and the 1st game at Cowboys stadium (before it was AT&T).

Was a subscriber in the 80s and 90s. Living in Ohio in the pre-internet days it was my primary source of Cowboys news.

Had a 2 year subscription when I was a teen living in Ohio, my brother bought me for my birthday, mid 70's.
I think I still have a few of the cheerleader centerfold pics.
