All or Nothing solidified Garrett as a Poser for me

I always had doubts about JG's ability to be a decent Head Coach but the thing that really solidified it was watching him behind the scenes in All or Nothing on Amazon a couple of years ago.
It was cringe-worthy watching him in meetings with the team.
He would feel the need to drop F-bombs constantly to I guess show the team that he was a tough guy and a real bad ***.
When in reality, everyone knows he is not, but watching him try to come across as such was so nauseating.
I know it, but I have a feeling that the players can sense it too that he was trying to be something he isn't.

I agree, he seemed to be trying too hard to fit in. I laughed when I heard a friend's wife say "is that what they teach at Princeton"? It was really out of character.

He should have taken a page from Marv Levy's book, be who you are expected to be. Levy is one of the most intelligent men to have ever coached and he kept that image to his players, he didn't try to come off as a tough guy.

I only watched it once and my memory fades these days but if someone were to ask me "What was your take" I'd say the exact same thing you did. Garrett was not convincing in his role and with every F-bomb I could see through the persona he was trying to create.

yeah it was laughable. he reminds me of the talented (lol) mr ripley, just studying other people and trying to emulate them. still shudder when i think of that corny "italian sub" speech

All or Nothing much like Hard Knocks is a great example how much different behind the scenes are from what we see.

I already knew how Garrett was from attending training camps , etc. and the buzz from insiders. What was most revealing to everyone I know was just how hands on Jerry still is.

We had hoped he was taking a lesser role but he’s obviously just as entrenched. Very sad. But explains much.

Yeah a lot of these players where in HS maybe even Middle School when JG took over as HC. so they are familiar with the guy, from the 3 consecutive 8-8 seasons, to "Coach Clap" they know they have to win in spite of the guy. It kind of felt like the team sabotaged JG on Thanksgiving hoping he would get fired Friday morning.

All or Nothing showed me nothing. It gave me a preview of the Country-Club lifestyle that these players live in. Maybe that's why so many retired players/ex- Cowboys players loved it (besides JG). You get away with anything and everything. Everyone and everything is so relaxed, unlike a real football locker room. You're essentially getting paid millions to workout every day and lose games every Sunday. What a great team .

I think it’s funny that you guys think you know who the “real” Jason Garrett is.

You’ve only gotten to know Press Conference Garrett.

There’s no way in hell he’s more phony in real life than he is in his robotic press conferences.

I haven't been able to bring myself to watch it for fear it'll put me in a rage to see the behind the scenes nonsense

I've heard it shows jeri's spawn littered throughout the coaching rooms watching everyone doing their jobs like minders are assigned to foreigners that visit North Korea, is that true?

watch all or nothing, watch hard knocks ... those are better insights to this loser than his robotic press conferences

People keep saying they think the players agree with their half-assed assessments of Jason Garrett, but over and over and over again, when we hear it directly from the players themselves, the exact opposite is proven to be true.

We just heard it again recently from Orlando Scandrick on Cowherd. And from Demarcus Ware in the AMA he did that’s quoted in my sig.

that means they're loyal. but not too smart. and seem quite content to continue losing.

How anybody defended him after Josh Brent was on the sideline two days after killing a teammate and JG said he didn't know is beyond me.

The guy is a clown and players don't give a rip about him.

never watched it. jerry allowed the farce in an attempt to lure amazon to the frisco area when they build their second facility.

That's actually the way Garrett always is. He doesn't show that side of himself publicly.

The clown of that show was Jerry.

According to several players, he didn't know. They snuck him through the locker room.

I don't know how they feel about him and don't really consider what they say because a lot of that is what they're supposed to say.

Garrett doesn't seem the same since JJ made that comment about the coaching staff. He seems to be a little pissed off on the sidelines lately. Maybe losing is adding to that attitude.

Yep, so obvious he's overcompensating, trying to be seen as a tough guy and actual football player instead of the Ivy League career backup QB he really was.

But then it's been clear to me he was a fraud playing a role from the beginning. All that forced over-grinning when he knows the camera is on him is just as weird as the overcussing bad-*** act.
