They can affor him. The caps going up soon. Tyrone Crawford gets 9 million per. He can be gone.

Shouldn't be to difficult to draft a replacement for Tyrone Crawford and save a bundle.

But for the fact it was just mentioned, I wouldn't have known. He looks great. But having a lot of injuries.

He played most of his career at 210. This year he’s 225. Do you think that’s too big for him? I’d rather he stay around 210

Geez how many Cowboy Player such-and-such threads are we going to have :) Next Dak is to fat.

His combine weight was 211, which he had gotten down to for the 40. Hes always played at around 220.

I suppose Cooper will be gone by the end of the season , too expensive .
They knew he would be expensive when they traded for him, it's a big part of the reason the raiders wanted to move him. One of the staff writers did a piece before he ever took a snap predicting his contract would be between 18 and 22 million the day after the trade. You don't trade a 1st round pick for a player, have them be one of the best at there position and let them walk 1 1/2 years later.

He did look a lot bigger this offseason and I was hoping it would help him against physical corners (his weakness) but hasn’t shown up in games vs Lattimore and Gilmore.

I don’t mind it tho as long as it’s not contributing to his lower body injuries though some of those have been bruises coming from hits. He’s having the best year of his career though and is getting top 5 WR consideration by many. So there’s pros and cons

Cowboys have 22 million dollars rolling over to next year, removing Crawford saves another 8 million. Also you factor in

1. The cap will go up close to 10 million if not more
and
2. They'll give Amari a large prorated signing bonus which will push the money farther down the contract when the cap will be an additional 25-30 million higher

Cowboys aren't stupid, they know how to play the system (if they want to pay key players they'll find a way)
On a side note, imagine zimmer, Belichick , or parcels coaching up these linebackers.

he did hurt his foot in camp. Maybe that caused him to gain weight.

Cooper’s playing weight is a non-issue. And he’ll definitely be re-signed.

Last year cooper beat lattimore when they played. This year he shut him down. Maybe the size took away some burst. I don’t like him being 225 when he doesn’t play physical. Lattimore and Gilmore got physical with him. He out weighs both by 15 plus pounds.

I bet they sign Coop. Unless he’s got some ongoing health issues.

Witten and Crawford frees up how much? It’ll get done

Witten is a FA next year. Cutting Crawford saves $8M.

Assuming no CBA gets done we can always franchise Dak and Transition tag Cooper.
