This can only mean that Garrett will be the head coach of the Cowboys next year because only a total idiot would think Garrett could get a job anywhere else. I don't buy this NY Giants story for one minute. The Giants just hired Shurmur and switched to a rookie QB. There is no chance the make a change to Garrett after one season. I am sure the thinking is that Garrett helped develop Dak so he can do the same thing with Danny Dimes, but Garrett most likely had little to nothing to do with Dak's development. Shurmur was hired by the Giants to make the transition from Eli to a young kid and they like Danny Dimes for a few reasons. If Garrett is still coaching in the NFL next year it will be with Dallas.

and, btw, I do not think Garrett would take a coordinator jobs with another team after spending 10 years as head coach of the Cowboys. He will either be a head coach or out of coaching. Knowing Jerry, Garrett will be offered some kind of job in the front office.

Im fine with booting Garrett, but I feel certain he will get hired by another team in the future.
Not sure about next season, but suspect it's likely.

I'm curious what other owners were babbling about on the radio this morning. Anyone have some links? No?

I'd hate to be a head coach under the Joneses. Can't keep their fingers out of the batter, can't stop telling the public their every thought.

The greatest fear Jerry has at this point in letting Garrett go,
is that he will have success somewhere else and it will expose
GM JJ decisions and control as the one who is limiting Dallas'
on the field performance.
If that is his fear....then Jason Garrett has him in a trance. I will admit...Jerry creates a culture that makes it impossible for anyone (save Bellichick, Pete Carrol) to win a Super Bowl...but Jerry has supplied enough talent to have more than 2 playoff wins in 10 years. The talent on this team...and the lack of talent on other teams should get you 7 - 8 wins every year with Stevie Wonder as the head coach. Good coaching is what takes you to the next level. Jason is not a difference maker on the sidelines. His ceiling IF and WHEN he makes the postseason is 1 win. The postseason represents the best of coaches and players. There is a reason Jason Garrett is ~.500 coach over 10 years against teams with winning records. Which is all the evidence you need that he is not built to win 3 or 4 games in a row in the postseason.

Just bad... So he has made up his mind? Which means he has to be speaking with coaches, or has begun the process.

Even he doesn't believe his own SB or bust dribble.

Yeah for the Giants. Jerry needs to take his medicine and go to sleep. I'm tired of hearing his old trap every day.

There's gotta be a mutual understanding already. Garrett is done here and Jerry is just trying to make him sound great to show that this isn't personal

"In my opinion, Jason Garrett will be coaching in the NFL next year....there is no specific bar for keeping or for firing Jason Garrett..." - The Ringmaster
Well, here we go. Get ready for an extension....Jones loves the money, drama and media attention his mouth stirs.
I'm too old to put up with another 10 years of this bollocks from Jerrah.

i will bet you whatever you want that Garrett doesn’t get an extension. Bet?

if he is coaching next year, it won't be in dallas, and it won't be as a head coach. his resume's out there for all to see. and it isn't particularly impressive.
