Making the Playoffs Could Hurt

I don’t recall saying I was rooting against the Cowboys if I recall I said I’d never want them to lose just it would help the situation I was talking about. I’d still rather they win number 6 but was taking a look at the way things realistically look.

Looks like the e girls are determined to foist the playoffs upon the Cowboys even if both lose out.

1st, a week delay because of the playoffs will not matter. Because most of the time, teams wait until certain teams are eliminated so they can interview certain coaches. Say Jerry is interested in a coach from SF, he will will have to wait anyway.

And to pull for the Eagles and root against the Cowboys. That is not allowed.

to add to this if teams started doing this tanking like MIA, Wash, , Bengals, and others and they are playing teams with playoff hopes that have opponents that are also needing wins to get in, if they Tank like say Miami folded and purposely tanked against the Eagles , hows that go for creating a non competitive league that are helping some teams get in by losing and a team like us fighting to get in lose a fair shot etc.

its dumb there isnt a more ignorant way of thinking in sport to lose on purpose..if you are bad so be it, if you are looking ahead to the following year and play younger players to get a look, so be it but going in and not playing hard and wanting to lose is against everything sports are about..


and for fans to want to lose and hope for a life long rival to win over them is ridiculous..

as a great coach once said, you play to win the games.. thats it.. draft picks are no guarantee and drafting better when your number is called whether you are 1 or 32 is the best way to get better,...

You would miss out on a chance to interview the guys who’s teams are on a bye.

again for the one millionth time time not pulling for Eagles and not rooting against Cowboys.

those teams would have to give permission for them to be interviewed. Most do not, and many coaches won’t during a playoff run.
And depends if other teams are even interested. Of a coach wants that HC shot, then most likely they will interview with most teams.

I don't really care how we make the playoffs.one playoff victory won't save garrets job.so i'm gonna enjoy knowing magic things happen in the playoffs and we have nothing to lose.maybe this team will click on the right time...you never know.

They do all the time they even have off days to do it. Kris did last year with I think Dolphins and Jets. Teams can’t stop a coach from interviewing for a head coach spot against the rules.

I cannot "like" this post enough. Wanting your team to lose to get a better draft pick baffles me. It's not like drafting a player higher is a guarantee to get a better player.

We suffered with him for ten glorious years. Time to sit down and give another ten, with a 5% raise.
