So..

Want answers to how?

Just look at what is killing us..

We need to stop going to Dak to carry the offense.

He is not good enough to do that.

Stop taking the ball away from Zeke. We are a running team. Not committing to Zeke affects TofP to much giving the other team more chances. And throw more screen passes. When was the last time we did that. Beasley ran it well but we have lost since he left. But do not use Austin. He tips off the play as he is a gadget play the defense knows to watch for when on the field.

Use Amari or screen to Zeke. Much more accomplished pass catchers.

Not running the ball makes our defense tired. They need to be limited to 25 minutes and no more.

Stop throwing derp routes. We need to ball control and not have 3 and outs so much. Besides..in 2016 that is what made Dak so good. Then the TV experts started commenting Dak did not throw deep and the coaching staff changed.

Dak has a sweet spot of between 10 to 15 yards where he throws quicker and avoids sacks.

Stop playing zone defense. We suck at that. See our stats for playing Zone. Play man to man.

Take their best player out of the game. If its WR, double cover him. If it's a RB, spy him. If it's a QB..blitz him.

Belichek has won 6 DBs doing this alone.

Snap the ball earlier. Stop running down the snap to 1 second left. It gives the defense too much time to get set and read the play.

Stop throwing to Witten. He is dropping passes and fumbling too much. Play other guys at TE. He has had a great career. Bring him back next year as a TE coach but only play him inside the Redzone where his lack of speed is not a factor and screening off defenders works.

These are my observations.

We have to do what we know..not what we hope will work.

Do that and we have a chance.

Do it not and we will soon tire of pointing fingers all off season.

I for one do not that sort of off season.

I'll throw a complaint in here as well.

If it's 3rd and 2 and we need a score.. Think about running it twice and picking up the 2 yards on 3rd and 4th down.

I love my odds of Zeke getting 2 yards off of 2 carries more then I like my odds of our WR's getting open, Dak delivering when they do, and them actually catching it.

Yeah, and I'm demanding more of the 'best offensive line in football' as well. Start playing up to the reputation. The best in the game shouldn't absolutely suck on short yardage. Be the bullies, not the bullied. There is no excuse as to why this team shouldn't dominate in that area given what has been invested.

Would it surprise anyone to know we are actually running the ball as many times per game this year as we did last year?

In any case, it's simple to say we should be giving it to Zeke more, but when the team feeds him over and over and there is no running room and he is averaging 2 yards per carry, does it really make sense to use that as the focus of the offense?

Remember the adjustments we all said the team didn't make in the past? Well, what has happened this year is when the running game works, we stay balanced, but when it doesn't, we adjust and lean more on the passing game. That's adjusting to what the game dictates.

The reality is the team didn't plan to have Dak as much of the focus as he has been. The team wanted balance. But circumstances dictate you go with what is working, and the passing game has worked a lot more consistently than the running game this season.

Let's also remember that the team has a tendency to fall behind, and when you fall behind, you have to do what it takes to catch up.

One thing we do not do enough of is blitz on third and long. We play zone waaay too much.

Dak isn’t running often enough.

O-line needs to sustain blocks so Zeke can run. Too often we’re getting beat at the point of attack.

We are now having to beat two teams on the field, our opponent and the flag-happy refs!

Jeebus ........

Moronic owner who undermines his own staff.

Useless coach who never has team prepared and makes no adjustments to attack a teams weakness.

And somehow it's Dak's fault ............

Dont know if its because of Fredbeard , but running game OL play is not there this year. With very little run blocking and not so fast Zeke , its not working , even when it works the coaches dont stick with it or D caves in and we are in the chase mode , throw throw and throw, ( With a QB who needs 6-7 secs on average to make throw )

I quit reading after you said Dak wasn’t good enough to carry this offense. He’s been carrying the offense all year long. They’re #1 in the league. You lost all credibility.

Stop taking the ball away from Zeke. We are a running team.

We lost a couple of games sticking with Zeke on first down when passing reliably worked.

The big change the first 3 games of the season was a 70% pass rate on first down. Win. Win. Win.

Stop with this we need to run or pass crap. This team needs to be balanced. Some teams have bad secondary we need to pass, when teams are bad at run defense we need to run. Attack the opponents weakness.

It would also help not running the ball right up the middle on every first down when teams expect it and now in 2nd and long.

We also played 3 pretty bad teams.......but yes they have become way too predictable.

I agree! The highest paid O line in football, consistently seems to be one of the weak links vs the better defensive lines.

So we are going to give the rock to the Fat Ewok 30 times a game and we will be undefeated rest of season and in the playoffs?

Another thread demanding that the strongest unit of the team drag a middling defense and the worst special teams in football to victory.

As we've seen, that formula only works against bad teams. Need to play well in all three phases to legitimately compete for a title.

They're certainly stopped far more easily than they should be. For the amount of first (and second) round talent that's been invested there, along with a #4 overall pick made for the running back, this team's running game should be close to unstoppable. And it has been in the past, but not anymore. This team's biggest offensive issue is that they can't get the tough yards when it matters most.

I can make it even more simple than that. Do what works.

I laugh when I see fans say, "give it to Zeke more" as if that is going to change the outcome of the game. Remember the Vikings game? The Cowboys were moving the ball up and down the field throwing it when Zeke couldn;t find a hole anywhere. Then, late in the 4th qtr. they decided to give it to Zeke on two consecutive runs then throw a stupid little out and that results in a loss of 3 yards from inside the 15 yard line! That's not the only time the team failed trying to force the run into a stubborn defense. They lost to the Jets trying to do the same thing. I admit there were games when they gave up on the run too quickly, like Buffalo, for example, but the real problem has been that the OL is not getting it done in the run game.

This team has a really good offense. They can run or throw. But they are not so good that they can open holes for Zeke against teams that are determined to stop Zeke. Against those teams, its dumb to think we can just keep handing it off to Zeke we'll win.

Take what the defense gives.

The other ting I would say is there are some things that cannot be changed this late in the season. For example, its clear the DBs have not been coached to turn and look for the ball, or if they have, they have not picked it up. Either way, its kind of late now to change that. What they can change is to be more aggressive. They can throw more blitzes at QBs hoping to force an bad decision, or maybe knock the ball out of the QBs hands, stuff like that. One of the problem with the Dallas defense is I think the range of their safeties is limited and their anticipation/awareness is very average. This is one reason they do not play zone well. But it also is a reason why they don't get a lot of INTs. There is not much they can do about this now.
