I get what you're saying and see how the topic spun out. I can also agree to disagree based upon this. I just don't think players are that much different now. The difference is our access to their lives has never been greater. Some choose to play it close to the best, while other choose to show off a little. I don't think it's right to based an argument on someone's love for the game based on their social media posts. These guys are literally sacrificing their bodies and future well being out there so we as fans have something to root for or watch. Maybe they're doing it for the money, but they're still the ones making that sacrifice.
I respect that. You’re right, the access into every players life is both good and bad. There weren’t 50 mics on the field to hear every word said and no social media. Players may have very well been the same back then - we just didn’t know it.

I think the root of the problem is that the team is terribly underperforming. And that causes some people (me being one of them) to micro-analyze.

Win and everything would be good haha

Living up to what Bennett's rant was about - players being all about money and contracts, and not about winning/legacy.

I get it, football is just a job to most players; but it's sad to me that fans now care about team success more than actual members of that team.

It's good Lawrence got paid. He has more money than I'll make in my lifetime.

Some will disagree with me (the usual suspects who I should block just to avoid their annoyances), I expect it. That's cool. But I miss the players like Aikman, Irvin, Romo, etc who would sacrifice anything for the joy and glory of winning a Super Bowl.

Sometimes I wish I could stop caring about the Dallas Cowboys!

It's strange. I was walking my boys this morning and across the street was a Lambo/Ferrari/Whatever just like that. Color and everything.
But my neighbors have grass on their yards.

I was wondering where this car came from and why was it there.
It was in front of a single woman's house who happens to be excruciatingly gorgeous, but I have no idea what she does.

She generally drives a Tesla.

Players not being as passionate about winning as the fan base who cheer for them is not unique to Lawrence, the Cowboys or the NFL.

That's just how it is today.
Truth of the matter is most fans need to be more passionate about their own lives than a team. If they had the same passion for their lives as their team many would be in a better position in what really matters.

I’ll be perfectly honest here. If I had his money I’d be driving one too...or at least a Ferrari.

I begrudge nobody of that.
I just have no interest in toys.

But if you indeed get one, I'll gladly take a ride with you.

Tank never changed his hustle. Even after the big contract. Never gives up on plays. Yes money was a priority but I truly believe he loves the game greatly as well

I see what you're saying, but the reality is that most wealthy men (in any profession) buy nice cars.

No sense in getting bent out of shape about it.
But they shouldn't use their platform to advertise/brag about it. BTW, one doesn't have to be wealthy men in any profession to have to have a nice car either. :muttley:

In what way did any of these players you named sacrifice anything? Aikman, Irvin, Romo..

IIRC, both Aikman and Irvin got paid max salaries during their era and Irvin was and still is known for flashy attire.

I think Romo made almost 200m with the Cowboys. He sacrificed some of his health, but not much else.

As for Tank...he got a nice toy. It's almost Christmas. Why not treat himself?

Take a bow.....my goodness our fans. Anyone remember Michael showing up in court wearing a mink coat? (lol)

I just like a car with Cruise Control and a nice AC.
No need to show anything off. Why would I?

Tank doesn't know the difference between Guns and Butter...... Get the SB Trophy and ring. That's your first reward.

Why does this really bother you? That's what you need to examine. Irvin wore a mink to court...
