This old man that goes to the local bar has long talked about his contacts with the Cowboys and says he personally knows Garrett. His stories are believable over the years as they are correct many times. I should add that he is not a drunk, usually has no more that two beers, while I have as many as I can fit down my neck.

Anyway, tonight we are talking Cowboys and he told me he has it on good authority that Jerry told Garrett that if he wins out he will get a new contract. He said winning in the playoffs would not be a condition.

The old guys knows I hate Garrett, we have discussed that for a few years and he understands why the fans are sick of him. But, he says he knows him and he backs him all the way.

If this is true it goes to show that Jerry really is not interested in winning big, but only interested in keeping his organization as is. As long as the Cowboys have a winning record and seemingly have a chance Jerry is happy. It is all about the fans deep pockets.

The fan base will revolt if they sign Garrett. I am sure of this. Jerry is not a stupid man, he sees this. He has lied before. Probably told him that to inspire him.

I will say this...if Garrett is signed I may be gone. Not going to another team but I will completely check out until the thing burns down. Which it will.

why do you keep mentioning that he is old? whats the relevance of saying it three times, or even 1?

If they sign him, revenues will continue to climb steadily for the club the way they always have. It won’t matter at all, one way or another.

I'm serious, this guy is not a bullchitter. We'll see what happens. I believe for sure that if the Boys do not get to at least the NFC championship game, Garrett is gone. But according to the old man, all he has to do is win out.
Oh is that all, just win the rest of the season?

I doubt we will get the chance to prove him wrong.

Of course. You are one of the biggest Garrett guys on here. I am sure he appreciates the dwindling support.

I'm with you. If Garrett returns I'm done with this circus until either Jerry kicks it or Garrett finally leaves. Unfortunately it might have to be Jerry headed to the oven first because he loves red far too much.

Maybe since you fill beer up to your neck you been misunderstanding all this time. He said "that @Ranching guy really knows his stuff. When he says Garrett it sucks, it really is true, Garrett Sucks, and Jerry is finally listened, he is gone if he doesn't make the SB".
:lmao2:

That is the way I interpret it, and I heard a lot of stuff as it flies around in bars. (used to own one and still involved in a way) so yes I heard and seen a lot.

Dallas isnt winning out so we will see. I think JG stays no matter what though tbh

Imo anything less than 10-6 and a playoff win is a failed season.

Unfortunately I think you are right. They pretty much will have to lose out or lose the division for Garrett to be fired.
Win the division at 9-7, he stays, probably a 3 year extension.
Even one and done in the playoffs, won't be enough to get him fired, or actually not extended.

Jerry knows what it will take already, he already has any excuses to keep him.
