If you can only have one next year who is your pick? Cooper or Dak?

No brainer. Dak. There is no one to replace him. Gallup, cobb and other wr's can pick up the slack from losing cooper.

You’d have to keep Dak. This is a real scenario that may indeed happen. There’s only one franchise tag and these guys want way too much for players on an average team.

..will be the highest money paying team boasting a illustrious 8-8 record. Some NFL owners will be saying, it sucks to get old.

Both will be signed.
Dallas gonna lose Cooper...Dak wants 35+ and Byron and Cooper have had 0 contract discussions...Cooper wants 92+ mil...cant afford them ...plus we already have 0 depth and 15 other free agents

What this team couldn't afford is to pay a RB 15 million. Paying Zeke was the worst contract in Cowboys history.

Both Cooper AND Dak will get paid and should get paid.

Agreed. Copper wants 100 million over 5 years. That’s crazy. Dak wants double that over 5. Signing these dudes would cost 300 million and they have never won a thing.

Its truly incredible how many of these 6-6 players think they deserve to be the highest paid guy in the league at their position.

IMO, if they sign Dak and Coop to huge deals and let Quinn, Jones and several other FA go, they will be lucky to be 8-8 next year unless the new coach is a massive upgrade to the clapper.

Jerry has engineered quite the mess. This was supposed to be the year. It really starts to come apart after this one. They may want to consider trading guys for draft picks while they still have value. Shorten the inevitable rebuild because if there ever was a SB window, it looks to be closing.

Hell, right now the Tank, Zeke and Jayon deals look like 3 of the 5 worst deals in Cowboys history and they happened the same year. Add in some overpaid linemen and you got one hell of a mess.

Incorrect. Not unless JJ finds a loophole in the system.
What loophole does he need? I haven't seen anything that says signing both is impossible. Crawford will be gone next year, Byron Jones may also be gone, the salary cap is expected to increase, and there undoubtedly are other ways the team could find some salary cap space, so why the certainty they can't sign both?

REAL coaching will solve the slow production on most of these guys.

With Zeke you simply don't pay RB's like that. But to make matters worse, he has truly lost a step.

If we were in any range to draft Tua (I think he's going to heal fine), I'd say sign Cooper, let Dak go and pick up one of the average quarterbacks who hit the free agent market.
This may be doable anyway because Jalen Hurts is coming out this year, and he's the mirror image of Dak, although he's a bit niftier in the open field.

With Dak it's always about money.

I respect Dak even more after this year but as awesome as he is we're a 6-6 football team and paying a guy like him all that money is not going to improve the overall team.

I think the wise thing to do is just let the next coach decide what to do and we all can just stop worrying about it.

The Jones's should think this way too instead of looking at jersey sells or whatever.

Hire a coach and let them decide if Dak fits into what they want.

Any coach that comes to Dallas will do so in large part because of Dak Prescott.

Link? Not just speculation what someone wants. I haven't seen an article yet saying either one are demanding these types of contracts.

Roy Williams? Not a bad example, but didn't we trade for him? Did we resign him?

Crawford was bad, but not THIS bad. Taco was rookie. Hurns was one year for 6 million, hardly compares to 90 million and 15 million per year for a RB that has lost a step.

The ONLY one I can think of might be that corner from KC we paid 10 million per year for 5 years.
