And I'm not saying Marinelli is any better. Richard was brought in because of Marinelli's failings. I just think you have to make some kind of change. I think firing Marinelli would have less of an effect because Richard is running the show.

Frankly, I would go after Rivera right now. Kick Jason to the curve and let him decide what he wants to do about the defense. It would be a bit of an audition.

The defense gives up at least 5 yards or more on like 70% of plays, it seems.

We have to look at changes at DC and OC in the off season.

Yeah Garrett needs to be changed also but the defense is completely broken.

Either retire Rod and promote Richard and we need to evaluate Richard alone.

The defense is confused out there.

And Moore is flat on his face and has no gift for playcalling.

David Shula was better and he lasted one season.

I knew letting him be promoted was going to fail.

He never won in the pros and needs to go out the door.

Then we make it a 10 point game with a full quarter to go, next drive boom, TD.

Following drive Miller drops one right in his hands on 3rd down and they finally punted.

Horrific defense.

Whoever coached the DEs to dive down on RB on read option is wrong IMO. Stay parallel to the LOS. That way you can contain QB if he pulls. LB presses LOS to take care of RB. If you dive like that you HAVE to have LB commit to setting the edge by flying out toward the vacated spot by DE. We dont have a LB right now that can do that laterally. Yet Trubisky made the right read all night and we made him look like Lamar Jackson.

I would fire both Garrett and Marinelli at minimum. Then I would have Moore and Richard have total control over their side of the ball without any influence from the top. Let’s see if they are really bad or if they were being handcuffed by Garrett and Marinelli.

Also whats the point of Rod?? Its obvious the Dline doesn't listen to him as they’ve began to freestyle and get stupid presnap penalties that have given up directly into a 1st down or lead to the next play giving up the 1st down

I see the same old twist and stunts that Rod runs all the time, that's a Rod thing not a Richards thing.

if that is what is wrong with the defense then yes, in either case. WHATEVER is WRONG with their defense, and there IS something REALLY WRONG with their defense...

needs to be dealt with immediately.
