these are Emmitts career end of year YPC averages..they are out of order some but its true..those saying this year Zekes having down year and point to his lower YPC, sure for him but the mighty ES has had many that were similar or worse..to many who argue ES wasn't just a volume chin moving back and was better then EE..need to stop remember the glory years as a TEAM and SBs.. Zekes been on par with ES career so far, I doubt he wants to play that long but both are always available , ie dont miss games due to injury..there are a ton of back who are around the same YPC this season as zeke, things even out over 16 games and few are having great years as Zeke already has..just becaue he got paid like ES did , doesnt mean he should be criticized with this much scrutiny..take a gander..

Zeke is a great RB. He's just not a generational back like he was in 2016. I'd like 2016 Zeke back, but we're going to settle for 2017-2019 Zeke while paying top dollar.
You may be getting him back next season with his ex head coach coming in.

Well he started off really good, and had a good run later, but it was the same ole. Like that 3rd down pass when the back didn't even turn around to look for the ball. Bad Coaching and why was that guy in there for the 3rd down anyways and not Zeke?
because zeke was gassed

I love you bringing one team up. List Urbans accolades. Ill wait.
He's never had a quarterback who could throw except maybe Alex Smith.

His quarterbacks run. RPO is his game. Great college coach.

You want that?

The build model is obvious, just look at the 49ers for example.
They have a great running game but they don't sale the farm to pay one RB.
They got 3 in Matt Brieda, Tevin Coleman, and Raheem Mostert.
All three of those RBs combined salaries are inconsequential compared to the truck load of cap deflating money Jerry deposited into Zekes bank acct.
You see,, I have never said that Zeke wasn't a good/great RB,, all Ive ever said is that there is a different way to win this game.
This is a salary cap game vs talent league, and you have to be smart enough to have some composure and not have the best of the best, because the cap will not support any team having the best of the best and pay top dollar for the best of the best.
Agreed, it’s well known I dislike Zeke as a person but I keep that separate from my criticism of him as a player. I’m not so sure about this year, but I’ve always said he was a top 3 back in the league, Barkley being the best but he hasn’t looked the same since his injury.

Having said that, as much as I like Barkley on and off the field I think the Giants were idiots for picking him at number 2 overall. That pick easily set them back a few years. I’ll laugh even harder if and when they sign him to a huge contract. RB’s in this league are very expendable, only once in the past 20 years has a league leading rusher won the Super Bowl whereas it’s been shown time and time again that teams win SB’s with all sorts of “cheap” RB’s. The Rams didn’t skip a beat without Gurley and that was with a guy who had been passed around the league like a hot potato and was just recently cut by his second team that year IIRC. Ajayi helped the Eagles win a SB.

Paying a RB that much money is a potential cap killer and a waste of cap space at the least. There’s not one game we would have lost this year if Zeke weren’t playing. Another dumb move by Jerrah who cracked at the end.

Remind me again why we’re paying him so much money?

Because this team leaned on him like none other the past few years to carry our QB and he did. When you attach that much importance to a player they're going to want to get paid like it. And now that they've opened up the playbook for said QB to shine, we see the reality of the situation. As I said last night, now that we see the clusterfudge going on with the offense, Zeke's agent was right all along to advise like he did and it worked. All you people who would have exhibited "proper" negotiation decorum if it were you would have been taken advantage of and shown the door by this organization. Let's see, be disliked by piker fans and have $90M wrapped up or play nice and have no idea what your financial future will be after this season? Tough choice.

I was just acknowledging his ability to still produce despite obstacles.

You guys can't get over his paycheck or the OLs failures to block.

I have not seen Zeke get tackled so much after only 3 yards downfield.

That play where they are trying to hit him on a swing pass so close to the sidelines has not worked at all.

Throw it sooner where he has space to get down field.

Do not know if this is Dak or by design.

It's bad enough Zeke has to run over 3 guys.

Now you are adding the sideline to help stop him.
So let me get this straight. You used stats to back up how good Zeke has been doing this year but the stats that say our O line is the 3rd best RB line in the league is a farce? A bit hypocritical and a double standard.

He wouldn’t have caught near as much flak if he waited until this year. Hell, he could have even showed up to camp but refused to start game 1 if he didn’t get paid, at least he would have been practicing with his team. Glad to know you support players like him, I sure as hell don’t.

Lol, no idea about his financial future? He already had ~50 million guaranteed before he sat out IIRC but the poor diva must have been worried he wouldn’t be able to afford his designer purses in 10 years if he wasn’t paid as the highest back in the league. Poor guy.

I would laugh and laugh if every player pulled that stunt and jeopardized our season and salary cap so I could hear what someone like you would have said. What if Dak and Cooper did the same thing at the same time? They should have, Jerry already set precedence.

THIS year is a spitshow. He could have gotten the same or better if we'd done the same or improved on last year but you're playing with an "if." As you see, "ifs" can have quite the effect on team priorities and run the risk of you not being one any longer depending on what happens. And you're looking at his money from a regular joe perspective (as do all fans). It's pretty routine that people want to be paid what they're worth and no one can deny that he's been working harder the past few years than just about anyone on the team.

Dak and Cooper could very well do the same thing because the team is even more hamstrung without them but now there's an off-season of "ifs" that can turn against them and hurt their prospects. Zeke just chose to eliminate that possibility full well knowing the hate that would come with it. I'd wipe my tears with $10 bills just like he probably does.

I don't know about that.
He does what he can do I guess, but a true team captain can carry a team.
Not saying Zeke isn't one of the best backs in the league, and fans get too caught up in what a player gets payed.
Zeke is no team leader, and never will be, doesn't know how to be.
A smart franchise never pays top dollar for any player that cant fulfill those expectations, at any position.
RBs don't carry the load anymore in todays NFL,, and Zeke hit the mega Millions jackpot because Jerry thought paying Zeke
would be like paying Deion or Haley.
LOL, yeah show me a RB in the NFL carrying there defense, and coaches, and offense with no blocking, don't worry i'll wait...

There’s not one game we’ve won because of him and therefore he’s done nothing that Pollard couldn’t have done. He had an impressive goal line run last night but there’s also plenty of runs where he was too slow to get around the corner or caught in open space where Pollard would have been gone.

This is why you don’t pay RB’s that much money. He’s nothing but an overpaid diva who demands to be paid
the top back yet has to take himself out of games in critical situations. Not to mention the game costing fumble against New Orleans that no one likes to mention.

Remind me again why we’re paying him so much money?

Lol. Pollard would've been injured weeks ago if he was the lead back...

You just supported my entire point.
No I didnt. Before you stated RB's dont carry the team you said Zeke isn't a leader never has been or will. Thats a total false statement. I can post interviews of teamates and coaches saying how Zeke was a leader in the locker room in college, and even his rookie year with Dak.

if we're being 100% honest ff Dak knows he has a backup over there he needs to tell him in the huddle I'm going to hit you early on the route so run like you're going deep, but get ready for the quick pass. That keeps the linebacker pushing downfield rather than playing wide taking the angle away.

1,000 ÷ 16 = 62.5

1,000 yards is not a major milestone anymore. 1,200 is a good year. 1,500 is a great year. IMO.

1071 /13 = 82.38. 82.38 x 16 = 1319.

Not saying hes playing great or he is going to finish up with that total, but at least use the right numbers. We haven't played 16 games yet.

Bad coaching? Look at that play design. It would have resulted in a walk in TD. Zeke took himself out because he needed a breather. Zeke likely doesn't get that wide open look. Players gotta make plays and the FB blew it.

Also, Zeke played all but one snap last night.
