Yeah as a backup. If they get Riley or Meyer here, they will likely draft Tua or Hurts whenever he is available. Dak will be like Bridgewater. Used to be an okay-average starter, ended up a good backup QB.

No, NFL teams with real NFL expertise would give Dak's agent a blank check if Dak became available as a free agent.

Only moronic media/fans think any of the Cowboys issues are due to Dak.

It's like fans/media that blamed Aikman in 89 or Romo for the botched snap.

The vast majority of fans/media are just morons. Sadly the Cowboys fan base has too many Morons. There is an Eagles fan that posts here and his posts are more logical than many posts by "Cowboys Fans". It's the saddest state of affairs that I can imagine.

The good news is that fans were Morons back when the Cowboys won Super Bowls in the Nineties. They cried about Jerry firing Landry when they should have been excited about Jerry bringing Jimmy to town. Also, Jerry replacing Bum Bright as owner was a terrific development but fans didn't see it and many would still dispute it. If Bum/Landry had stayed, there would have been zero Super Bowls. Even Landry with a new owner was too set in his ways.

Yes, the majority of fans hate Jerry, but if you lived through the 44-0 thrashing by the Bears in the mid-eighties then lived through the 3 Super Bowls in the Nineties, then it's hard NOT to give Jerry a lot of credit for making that happen.

Side Note: I can still see vivid images in my mind of Mike Singletary in that 44-0 game in 85. I think he cracked multiple helmets in that game including his own and the ones belonging to some Cowboys players.

I doubt he'll get what he was looking for (closer to 40 mil/yr) but he will now probably accept the approx. 35/yr that was most likely offered.
That's not losing money, it's just not getting more than was offered.

Dak will likely end his rookie contract as the NFL's leading passer ...
unless franchise tagged he can sign the biggest contract in history, if he wishes
personally, I think he can take far less than that and make up the diff in endorsements
if he stays here - but I think it will take more than just money to sign him

for example, if you were Dak would you insist on drafting a real XWR?
I sure as hell would - running a timing offense w/o a control WR is putting square pegs in round hole

And BTW, we don't know if the Cowboys have made Dak a hard offer - that would take renegotiating a several other contracts like Elliot, Smith, Smith, Martin, Frederick, Collins. I never expected it to get done this season

you are obviously not watching closely, for every one pass like that the dime for TD to Amari on the other night there are 10 other poor passes in the dirt or behind or no chance . I am not against Dak and in fact like him , but he is not an elite Qb who can win without good support , good defense.

Dak isn't the problem but he didn't help until garbage time last week. Abig reason for the three and outs was Dak throwing behind receivers

They can always put that to the test by transition tagging him. Then we'll see exactly what the best offer would be.

I think it's entirely possible that Dak and his agent had high hopes of getting more than they were likely to get, although, Jerry is and has long been an easy touch to pay his many players with generosity that astounds many, if not most of the Cowboys' sane fans. I think he'll likely be quite pleased when it comes time to collect his rewards. I'm pretty sure most of us will also be somewhat jealously pleased for him at the end of that endless procedure. Dak needs to quit listening to an agent that seemingly got carried away with his lust for the green.

I said before Teddy would be great, I just cringe at trusting his wheel... Teddy was going to be very good. He just had the bad luck...
He did great filling in for Brees. He would be a starter somewhere, if it weren't for people having a hard time trusting his leg stays together.
