He was correct in that statement

sports are entertainment. Treat it as such
It might be correct but you don't say it publicly. I was livid when I heard it. That was around the time I knew Romo would never lead us to a title.

Some of you guys are comical. But, as much as I love Romo, I don't believe he is HC material at this point. Let him start out as a "position" coach first. Honestly, I don't think Romo has any intentions of being any kind of coach. But then again, what the heck do I know. o_O

More money and working 3 days a week or

less money and the long hours associated with coaching?

I wonder which he'll pick.

Also, again stop anointing people. How about a few years of being an assistant before just handing someone the head coaching job of the most valuable franchise in all of sports?

I don't know if it's a generational thing, but I don't get people who just want to promote someone with zero experience to critical leadership roles. Leadership qualities are valuable, but true leaders are made not born.

We’ve seen threads with fans wanting either Romo, Aikman and even Jon Kitna and Kellen Moore as the Cowboys next HC as if the team has had success with former Cowboys QBs as HC.

It is our entertainment not his. It is his job to win and when the team loses it costs other players a precious opportunity that they may never get again in their careers.

For some players that season was their last chance before retirement and they knew it. Some players played hurt a great part of the season just for that reason For others, it wiped out millions of dollars in incentives.

Losing that game may have cost some coaches their jobs at the end of the season.

Sure, maybe in 7 or 8 years or so after he worked his way up the coaching ladder. The last thing this team needs is another learn-on-the-job coach.

Whoever is next, must be an established head coach whether it from College or the pros. Meyer has never worked in the NFL but he knows how to coach and it would translate into the next level.

I'd rather have Michael Myers instead of urban Meyer, at least Michael doesn't give up - even when you kill him

The first move Romo would make as HC would be to bench Dak for taking his job and getting him released after the 2016 season. lol That would have the Romo lovers/Dak haters rejoicing in the streets.

“If this is the worst thing that ever happens to me, I will have lived a good life.” - Tony Romo, after losing to the Eagles, and being eliminated from playoff contention.

No thanks, I don't want a HC that accepts losing so nonchalantly.

Romo was a good player. Never had the makeup of a champion. Perfect for this franchise.

Not excited about any hire by Old Jer. Unless he specifically says he will no longer do interviews. No longer report injuries. No longer meddle with the team. No longer make excuse after excuse for sub par play and coaching. Until Old Jer decides to become a shadow and stay away from the coach and teams, there isn't one candidate that gets me excited. It will be the same old song and dance.

Romo is too smart to take this job. He's got a better one that affords him way more time for family and golf.

If the solution was to hire a former great qb who was extremely smart then it should be Peyton Manning.

Think that is stupid? Me Too.

Just like hiring Romo would be.

Stupid.

Ben and Skin mentioned on their podcast that Romo doesn't want to spend hours on end at the facility so he'll most likely never be a coach. They said Witten is wired different and that being Cowboys coach is actually his dream job.
It's comical. Recommending former players who have zero coaching experience to jump to the front of the line. As if Romo, who works one day a week, makes or soon to make 10 million a year, and gets months off, would come back to make less money, less security and work 60+ hours a week. lol
